How Donald Trump cheated when he played golf against Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson
U.S. President Donald Trump is well known for his love of golf. In fact, outside of his presidency, it might well be the most popular subject he likes to speak about.
Thanks to social media and in particular, Bryson DeChambeau, we have been lucky enough in recent years to actually catch a glimpse of just how good Trump is.
Of course, there’s always the lingering doubt due to stories and tales out there that Trump might not be the most honest of players on the golf course.

In fact, those stories aren’t simply made up, and looking back at a match Trump hosted with no other than Tiger Woods, he’d no shame in doing it against the 15-time major winner either.
Donald Trump’s cheating tactics against Tiger Woods
You almost don’t want to believe that the President would indeed cheat his way around a round of golf but, alas, here we are.
According to golf analyst Brad Faxon, speaking back in 2019, Trump did indeed resort to some unsavoury tactics when he played alongside Woods, Faxon, and Dustin Johnson.
With Faxon playing alongside Trump, he witnessed first hand just what went down.
“On this one hole, Donald hits his second and fats it into the water,” Faxon recalled. “But he quickly says to me, ‘Hey, throw me another ball; they weren’t looking.’ So I do. But he fats that one into the water, too. So he drives up and drops where he should’ve dropped the first time and hits it on the green.”
After making it up onto the green, Trump then questioned where everyone was, before claiming he had a putt for a four (a three given the handicaps in play), which was actually for a seven.
Trump missed the putt anyway, as Faxon explains.
“How great is that?” Faxon continued. “Four for a three! But he missed it anyway. It was really fun to play with him. He rakes [picks up] every putt [as if it’s conceded], but you kind of want him to. You’ve heard so much about it, it’s almost like you want to witness it so you can tell the stories.”
What Jack Nicklaus said about Donald Trump’s golf game
Everyone now knows that Donald Trump can play golf to a good standard, even if he does bend the rules the odd time.
However, when Trump is being endorsed as a golfer by Jack Nicklaus, he must be doing something right.
“Well, the ones I’ve played with, actually Trump is probably the best player,” Nicklaus said. “Trump plays pretty well. He plays a little bit like I do. He doesn’t really ever finish many holes. But he can hit the ball, and he goes out and plays and just enjoys it. But he’s won several club championships. He can play.”
As we know, Trump’s passion is golf and even after he’s done and dusted as U.S. President, we can expect to see him out there time and again.
