Unfazed Jake Paul Mocks “Dangerous” Update From Gervonta Davis’ Training Camp

Tanky Davis is in trouble.” A month ago, while sharing a fight poster, Jake Paul fired the first salvo. With just weeks left before they finally meet at Miami’s Kaseya Center, Paul’s potshots, of different colors and hues, continue to land in the 135-pound champion’s court. The YouTuber-turned-boxer and the lightweight titleholder headline an MVP (Most Valuable Promotions) – PBC card, which is now stacked with two title bouts and several other competitive fights on the undercard.

The main event has already drawn a fair share of criticism. The Jake Paul/Gervonta Davis exhibition fight will feature ten rounds of three minutes each. Its outcome will not affect their official records. Still, thankfully, the bout does not seem to exclude the thrilling elements of a regular fight, such as knockouts and TKOs. That might be why cruiserweight Paul decided to tease his rival in a fresh assault.

Jake Paul vs Tank Davis - undercard revealed for Nov. 14

The mind games begin: Jake Paul taunts Tank Davis

Pointing to the time left before their match, the Cleveland native wrote, “My team told me Tank is looking dangerous in camp based on intel. Shiver me timbers. 4 weeks. Miami.” Paul’s comments follow recent footage that reportedly showed Tank Davis sparring with a much bigger, presumably heavyweight fighter.

Gervonta Davis stands only 5 feet 5 inches tall against Jake Paul’s six-foot frame. In his decade-long career, the highest weight class he has ever entered was light welterweight, and that, only once. So he has to prepare himself for an overwhelmingly mismatched challenge.

However, if some of his associates’ claims are true, Davis seems to have given the bigger fighter a hard time. “Tank hit… hit him so hard that he was on the top of the ropes,” one of them told a few reporters. Even otherwise, Tank is renowned for maintaining a grueling training schedule.

Moreover, his team assured fans a month ago that his fight against Jake Paul would be different from last November’s Mike Tyson bout. Training clips of Jake Paul have also gained traction.

Size can’t save you when skill strikes

During the post-fight interview after the Tyson match, Paul took jibes at Gervonta Davis’s height, asking, “Is there a height limit in boxing?” But now that the bout is just around the corner, perhaps the 13-fight veteran realizes what he’s getting into.

Hands down, he enjoys the height and weight advantage. However, skills tell a different story. There’s a reason why Gervonta Davis has been nicknamed ‘Tank.’ With 93% of his opponents stopped inside the distance, he remains one of boxing’s foremost finishers.

Still, it would be foolish to focus only on Tank’s killer instincts. Inside that five-foot-five frame lies a remarkably sharp boxing mind. A solid blend of sublime footwork and robust defense makes Davis one of the hardest boxers to hit.

So Jake Paul is looking at the full package. The fight, which many see as a money grab, may not alter Paul’s or Davis’ records. But it nonetheless promises to deliver excitement.

That’s according to his promoter Eddie Hearn, the chairman of Matchroom, who continues to deliberate over the former two-time heavyweight world boxing champion’s options, seemingly preferring a money fight.

In 32 pro bouts to date, Joshua has collected some significant wins, including those over Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, and Alexander Povetkin. Following back-to-back losses to No.1-ranked heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua rebounded with four wins on the spin, but came unstuck for a fourth time in his career to Daniel Dubois, last year.

Joshua is set to return, after approximately 18 months away, in early 2026. And, though he’s been linked to five probable opponents, there is one who has seemingly shot to the top of the list, and it’s all because of the extraordinary sum of money such a fight would generate.

How Much Money Anthony Joshua Could Make in His Next Fight

The fights that fans have demanded most from AJ through the years involve those against his compatriot Tyson Fury, and American rival Deontay Wilder. Unlikely to happen next, rivals like Guido Vianello, who has called Joshua out for a bout at the Coliseum, Tony Yoka, which presents an Olympian vs Olympian format, and Martin Bakole, have all emerged as more probable comeback options.

The creator-turned-boxer Jake Paul has forged a wildly successful career in combat sport, feasting on overmatched opponents to significant audiences, and he, too, seemed like a possibility until the pugilistic troll turned to Gervonta Davis on Netflix, instead. Regardless, per Hearn, Paul remains an option providing Tank doesn’t flatten him at the Kaseya Center in Miami, mid-November.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Hearn said that “the conversation continues with Nikisa” Bidarian, who is the co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions and Paul’s right-hand-man in boxing.

“They’re telling me, they want to do the Anthony Joshua fight.”

Hearn continued: “I have told them if they get chinned by Gervonta Davis, who weighs 135 pounds, how could we possibly do an Anthony Joshua fight?”

Joshua has preferences. “AJ wants to fight Tyson Fury. That’s the biggest fight out there right now.”

However, everyone has their price. “Listen, if someone wants to give us $100 million to spark Jake Paul inside a minute, who would turn that down?”

Joshua has, of course, competed in crossover events before, as he humbled the former UFC champion Francis Ngannou inside two rounds in 2024. With Hearn naming Joshua’s price in such a public forum, it’s just as likely he’s sending a message to opponents and other promoters that this is the figure it takes to successfully lure them to the negotiating table.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather became famous for being one of the greatest boxers of his generation.

However, his notoriety has continued despite retiring in 2017 because of his penchant for living a lavish lifestyle, which always keeps him in the headlines.

Mayweather’s affinity for nightclubs and Las Vegas parties is well-documented at this point. And during an October 16 episode of UFC legend Daniel Cormier’s podcast, former UFC bantamweight champion and current featherweight fighter Aljamain Sterling shared a story from the past where he and Mayweather almost got into an altercation because of Mayweather’s interest in Sterling’s then-girlfriend and current wife.

Aljamain Sterling Shares Floyd Mayweather Club Story Involving Girlfriend

“It’s a real situation that happened,” Sterling said when Cormier asked him about Mayweather trying to take his girlfriend (now wife), Rebecca, at a club in Las Vegas. “2016, I think it was. I was just starting, I was undefeated, on my second contract for the UFC. So I’m feeling good.

“[Mayweather] is pointing to [Rebecca] and our friend at the time. They come over, he sent somebody up, she comes, she’s telling me, ‘Mayweather was just pointing at us, and was telling us to [come over].’ I’m like, ‘So what does that mean?'”

Cormier then interrupted by saying Sterling could beat Mayweather up in an actual fight because he could take him down, and Sterling said, “In an actual fight, yes.” Then, going back to the story, Sterling continued, “In the moment, I was kind of a young, hotheaded kid, so I’m thinking a couple things. I’m like, ‘If Shorty goes down there, it’s [over]. Signed, sealed, delivered.”

“Mayweather sent somebody up, I go over to them, I talk to them, I’m like ‘Hey, man. I know how this goes. You’re trying to tell me to bring her down. Nah, it don’t work like that,'” Sterling continued.

“They go back, they come back again, trying to recruit both of us now. And they’re like, ‘[Mayweather] said you could come down, too.’ I’m like, ‘Nah. Nah. I’ve seen this movie before. We go down together, she goes in, they try to stop me, and it’s gonna be an issue, because I ain’t gonna be made to look like no fool,” he added.

“I told them to tell [Mayweather], ‘He’s undefeated in boxing. I’m undefeated in MMA. If he wants to figure out what sport is better, we can find out today.'”

Clearly Sterling was willing to stand his ground. But it’s probably for the best for both sides that this situation was de-escalated before it became physical.

Oleksandr Usyk has confirmed he’ll fight on for “three more years” — meaning the reigning heavyweight king could remain at the top until age 41.

The undisputed champion revealed his plans on his Ready to Fight platform, vowing to keep boxing until his body — or the mandatory queue — says otherwise.

“I’ll fight until I’m 41,” Usyk told his Ready to Fight venture alongside Sergey Lapin. “Then I’ll build a sports academy. I’ll train there and train others.”

The Ukrainian maestro, who dethroned Tyson Fury last year and repeated the feat in December 2025, appears set for another mandatory merry-go-round that could define the remainder of his career.

Usyk’s Next Move
“I can’t say who exactly because negotiations are ongoing,” Usyk admitted. “I’d like to make something up for you right now.”

With the sanctioning bodies circling, Usyk’s next four fights will likely come from a pool of six contenders outlined by World Boxing News. They are Joseph Parker, Fabio Wardley (depending on who wins their bout), Agit Kabayel, Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and rising phenom Moses Itauma.

The Mandatory Chaos
Each presents a different kind of challenge. Kabayel, as the WBC’s mandatory, is a logical step for late 2026 or early 2027. Fury, of course, is pushing hard for the trilogy — desperate to regain the prestige he lost in Riyadh. Parker continues his late-career surge, and Wardley’s stock is rising. The winner of their October 25 clash will be first in line, potentially for a spot in the spring of next year in Saudi Arabia.

Finally, Wilder could still earn redemption if his comeback momentum holds, and he defeats a top name by the time Usyk completes the first stipulated title defense.

Then there’s Itauma — the 20-year-old prodigy already linked to a “passing of the torch” bout that Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh is said to want before Usyk hangs up the gloves.

“He Doesn’t Hit Grandpas!”
Usyk laughed off talk of facing Itauma anytime soon, though he didn’t completely rule it out.

“No, I won’t fight Itauma [in the next fight]. He’s young — always teasing me,” Usyk joked. “And he said himself he doesn’t hit grandpas!”

The coming years could see Usyk move through a mix of mandatories, mega-fights, and legacy bouts — perhaps ending with one final Riyadh blockbuster before his planned retirement.

“Next year,” Usyk added, “and, God willing, I’ll win.”

For boxing fans, that means three more years of brilliance, chaos, and unpredictability — all led by the sport’s most disciplined “grandpa.”

Terence Crawford Owes Turki Alalshikh A Real Fight: After Canelo Gift, It’s Time To Face David Benavidez

Terence Crawford owes Turki Alalshikh a favor for choosing him as the guy to fight the faded Canelo Alvarez to knock him off his perch as the King of the 168-lb division.

Turki wanted Crawford 42-0, 31 KOs) as his guy to fight the Mexican star rather than David Benavidez, who the U.S fans wanted to see fight Alvarez. No one was asking for Canelo-Crawford.

Crawford wasn’t even on the list. His fighting style had never resonated with the larger public and was more favored by fans who enjoy Tom and Jerry fights.

NETFLIX NUMBERS TELL THE TRUTH

As we saw, it wasn’t ‘The Fight of the Century.’ It was boring, and Netflix viewing numbers for 41 million viewers weren’t even equal to half of the 108 million Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson produced in 2024.

Turki’s recent comment on X on September 14th about whether Benavidez can still make 168 was seen as a big hint that he wants to set up a fight between Crawford and him.

”Can David Benavidez still make 168 pounds?”

Time to Pay Turki Back in Blood Since that’s what Turki wants, doesn’t Crawford owe him to give him the fight that he wants? I mean, he reportedly paid him $50 million for the Canelo fight, and it wasn’t the match the U.S. or world public wanted.

Crawford should show his gratitude by facing Benavidez and providing an entertaining battle for him and the American fans. They just saw a boring fight between Canelo and Crawford that didn’t even match the entertainment of the undercard fight between Lester Martinez and Christian Mbilli.

Crawford has been calling himself deserving of being among the top of the all-time greats, saying, “Now I’m on top of Mount Rushmore.”

ONLY BENAVIDEZ CAN VALIDATE CRAWFORD

If Terence wants to be at the top or one of the three best fighters of all time, he owes it to Turki, himself, and the fans to face the walking guillotine David Benavidez.

It’s the only way he can be remembered as an all-time great because beating a washed Canelo and a car crash ruined Errol Spence isn’t good enough for Crawford to be on Mount Rushmore.

Middleweight world champions Janibek Alimkhanuly and Erislandy Lara are reportedly set to face each other in a unification clash before the end of the year.

According to Ring Magazine reporter Mike Coppinger, the bout will take place in San Antonio, Texas on 6 December on the undercard of the interim super lightweight world title fight between Isaac Cruz and Lamont Roach Jr.

Kazakh knockout artist Janibek, who is unbeaten in 17 professional fights and has 12 stoppages to his name, has been calling for fights with fellow titlists in recent months, and he has now got his wish.

He is currently in possession of the WBO and IBF belts, while Lara has the WBA strap.

The 42-year-old Cuban, (31-3-3), has held a version of the WBA title since 2021 but has not fought since September 2024.

He turned professional back in 2008 and was only narrowly beaten by split decision when he faced Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez in 2014.

The winner of the contest between Janibek and Lara will have three of the four middleweight world titles, with Dominican star Carlos Adames the other champion at 160lb.

Adames drew with Britain’s Hamzah Sheeraz in February and has not returned to the ring since.

He could be in line to face either Janibek or Lara in a potential undisputed fight in 2026.

Pound-for-pound No 1 Terence Crawford may also be keeping a close eye on proceedings down at middleweight as he plots his next career move.

Crawford became an undisputed champion in a third weight class last month when he outpointed Canelo to claim all four super middleweight titles.

He is the first man to completely rule three divisions and could fancy his chances of creating more history.

If the winner of Janibek vs Lara faces Adames in an undisputed showdown, Crawford may be tempted to move down for a shot at the new middleweight king.

This would give him the opportunity to earn undisputed status in a fourth division, while also becoming a six-weight world champion.

In one of the most viral moments of Super Bowl LIX, Serena Williams crip-walked to Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track “Not Like Us.”

Now, her dance moves have earned her another high-profile gig. The tennis legend gets to appear on Bridgerton, according to none other than executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

Serena’s Bridgerton Audition

When you’re known as the GOAT in your sport and a global icon, landing a TV role looks different than it does for the rest of us. Williams’ “audition” was really just a fun Instagram reel that she made with Rhimes. The Grey’s Anatomy creator wanted to do the Stephanie Mills challenge, and she convinced Williams to join her in dancing to “Never Knew Love Like This Before.”

“I told Serena she could be an extra in Bridgerton if she was my backup dancer,” Rhimes wrote over the video.

As the writer lip-synced with her 2015 book, Year of Yes, as a faux microphone, Williams gave a wholehearted effort in the background. “My girl @serenawilliams don’t play about @bridgertonnetflix !!” Rhimes wrote in her caption, before adding that it was “SO fun.”

Fans applauded Williams in the comments, including longtime Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo. “She understands the assignment,” she wrote. The official Shondaland account added, “We MUST make haste…to casting!”

Friends And Fans

Both women appreciate each other’s work. While Williams is enthusiastic enough to dance for a guest spot on Rhimes’ show, Rhimes is hugely admiring of the retired tennis player. Speaking to Bustle earlier in October, she said she’s the biggest fan of the Williams sisters.

“What Venus and Serena have accomplished is amazing,” Rhimes said. “The people that they are and have continued to be, are really amazing and impressive.”

In fact, when it came time to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Year of Yes, she got Williams to host her tour event in Philadelphia on Oct. 13. That’s where they filmed their dance video, and afterward, Rhimes posted photos on Instagram and shared how much fun she had.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better night,” she wrote. “Philly, you were incredible!! Thank you for showing up with so much love and energy.”

She also added a special shoutout to Williams: “And a HUGE thank you to the legend and icon @serenawilliams for sharing this moment with me, truly making it a night to remember (Serena is so funny, y’all!). I am forever grateful.”

Bridgerton Season 4 premieres in January, so assuming it all works out, Season 5 may be the soonest we can expect to see Williams join the ton.

Serena Williams Flaunts Her Figure in New Snaps After Dropping 31 Pounds

Serena Williams is feeling herself once again!

The former professional tennis player and Olympic gold medalist, 43, took to Instagram on Monday to share a series of stunning photos that featured her standing on a balcony in satin swimwear and a matching robe. With her long, blonde hair done in tight curls, the iconic athlete smiled brightly in the photos, which came just a few days after a more cryptic social media post that Williams posted, noting that she was focusing on her mental health.

“Dressed to the nines… and on cloud nine. In satin swimwear of course,” the beauty captioned the photos.

The athlete, who has two daughters, Alexis Olympia, 8, and Adira, 2, with husband Alexis Ohanian, made headlines last month with her announcement that she lost 31 pounds using a GLP-1 medication.

Williams partnered with the telehealth company Ro as a patient and celebrity ambassador to lose the 31 pounds after struggling with losing weight after the birth of her second child. Her husband, Ohanian, is an investor in the company. He is also the co-founder of Reddit.

Williams Had a ‘Difficult August’

Earlier this month, Williams appeared to be struggling a bit when she posted a cryptic message to social media about focusing on her mental health. While the tennis icon looked stunning in a series of photos that featured her in a red silk dress in a library, the caption was a bit more mysterious.

“Dearest gentle reader, My summer started out well but I was plunged into a difficult August. Like many of you, I faced challenges that tested my spirit and resilience. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming and it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters—your mental health and well-being. I took some time away to breathe, to reconnect with myself, and to remember that it’s perfectly okay to pause and reconnect. Even if it’s just a quiet night to yourself. Anything counts,” she wrote in the caption.

She went on to say that she “learned that the end of a matter is better than its beginning. And even though things haven’t reached their end yet, I’m also learning to let go and live life one moment at a time. The only thing I’m dealing with in this moment here is how good this dress looks against first editions.”

Rory McIlroy faces brutal reality check in India after making historic decision

Rory McIlroy learned a harsh lesson at Delhi Golf Club during the first round of the DP World India Championship, experiencing firsthand just how unforgiving this notorious course can be.

Making his Indian debut, McIlroy – who recently opened up on possibly captaining the Ryder Cup team in the future – tackled a treacherous layout famous for its dangerously tight fairways bordered by thick vegetation. A LIV Golf player recently called Delhi Golf Club one of the most “claustrophobic” courses in the world.

Ranked No. 2 globally, McIlroy prepared for the test by making an unprecedented equipment decision. The Masters champion chose to leave his driver in the locker room, despite being one of golf’s all-time greats with that club.

He understood the critical importance of accuracy in Delhi, and largely delivered on that strategy. McIlroy posted a three-under-par 69, finishing the opening round four strokes behind early leader Keita Nakajima.

However, the Northern Irishman’s score could have been significantly better had it not been for a wayward tee shot on the par-five eighth, his second-to-last hole.

The 36-year-old opted for a long iron off the tee but pulled it left, leaving himself in an almost impossible situation.

Hemmed in by trees and undergrowth, he had minimal space as he attempted to chip back onto the fairway.

He struggled to generate the necessary power, landing in the thick rough, and ultimately scored a bogey on a hole that had offered many birdie opportunities.

McIlroy’s struggle on the eighth encapsulated the challenge of Delhi Golf Club; it’s scoreable, but accuracy off the tee is crucial.

“It’s pretty tricky,” McIlroy commented post-round. “You’re just really trying to be as conservative as possible off the tee and then trying to pick off birdies on the par-5s and maybe pick up a couple more. Yeah, it’s a tricky golf course.

“I thought some of the hole locations early on were really tricky. You play a practice round or a pro-am, the pins are all in the middle of the green, and then you get to tournament day and they start to tuck them away a little bit, and of course definitely played a little tougher than I expected it to today.”

When asked about his strategy for the remaining 54 holes, McIlroy responded: “I think it’s similar strategy to what I did today, especially off the tee.

“You just have to get the ball in the fairway. The rough is unpredictable. You get a lot of fliers like I did the last two there. Yeah, maybe being a little bit less aggressive with approach shots and getting it on the right side of the pin.

“The greens are so grainy that uphill putts are very slow, but then if you get it above the hole, the downhill putts with the downgrain get very, very quick, so leaving yourself below the hole is pretty important, as well.”

‘I’ll Be There For Every Match’ – Tiger Woods Confirms He’ll Be At Jupiter Links’ TGL Games

Tiger Woods says he will be attending “every match” of his Jupiter Golf Links team’s TGL season, after undergoing his latest back operation.

After revealing he’s had an operation on a collapsed disc, Woods hasn’t given any indication of a timetable to return to playing golf.

Fans will still be seeing a lot of the 15-time Major champion in January though once the TGL gets under way, after he confirmed he’ll show up at SoFi Center for each of the games Jupiter Links plays in.

The second season of TGL officially starts on December 28 with New York taking on champions Atlanta Drive, before Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common faces Los Angeles GC on January 2.

Jupiter Links enter the fray later in January, and in response to a social media post from the team wishing him well, Woods replied that he’d be watching in person.

“I’ll be there for every match! Looking forward to seeing everyone on January 13th for our home opener,” Woods Wrote on X.

Woods will be cheering on his team-mates Tom Kim, Max Homa and Kevin Kisner while they fight it out for Jupiter Links – but this time he’ll not be bringing his clubs.

And with teams having four-man squads, Jupiter Links will be on the lookout for a Woods replacement as it’s unlikely all three players will feature in every game.

Woods played in four games of the tech-filled indoor golf league last season, and was expected to play a full role this time before news of his latest back surgery.

“After experiencing pain and lack of mobility in my back, I consulted with doctors and surgeons to have tests taken,” Woods said of his seventh back surgery in 11 years.

“The scans determined that I had a collapsed disc in L4/5, disc fragments and a compromised spinal canal.

“I opted to have my disc replaced yesterday, and I already know I made a good decision for my health and my back.”

It’s a big moment in time for Woods as he contemplates what’s next in his famed career, as he turns 50 at the end of the year and is eligible for the PGA Tour Champions in 2026.
