Oleksandr Usyk expresses desire to fight Deontay Wilder who would be open to world title clash in 2026

Oleksandr Usyk wants to defend his world heavyweight titles against Deontay Wilder, who has welcomed a fight against the unified champion.

The Ukrainian has broken his silence about his next career move, confirming that he wants to put his WBC, WBA and IBF belts on the line against Wilder.

Usyk has been absent from the ring since his stoppage of Daniel Dubois in their July rematch, but the two-time undisputed world heavyweight champion is now targeting the American, who had a lengthy reign as the WBC champion.

Speaking at the WBC convention in Thailand, Usyk told Boxing King Media: “I want to fight Deontay Wilder. I think it’s interesting.

“This is a world champion guy, this is a very famous guy, this is a strong guy

“He is one of the great heavyweights of the last 10 years.”

Wilder, who returned to the ring with a seventh-round stoppage of Tyrrell Anthony Herndon in June, would be open to a fight against Usyk.

“Usyk is a great champion,” Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel told Sky Sports.

“We have plans for next year and we’d like Oleksandr Usyk to be part of them.

“If we receive the right offer, we would be open to that fight.”

The Alabama fighter could receive the chance to become a world champion again, a decade after he dethroned Bermane Stiverne to become WBC champion in January 2015.

Usyk became the undisputed world heavyweight champion for a second time after he halted Dubois in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium.

The unbeaten 38-year-old vacated the WBO belt last week and Britain’s Fabio Wardley was elevated as the new WBO champion.

But Usyk has vowed to unify all four major titles again in the future, telling the WBC convention: “Some people are saying I’m not undisputed champion anymore. Well, that is only temporary.”

Serena Williams set for tennis comeback? Rumors swirl as she teases coming out of retirement

Serena Williams may be inching closer to one of the most dramatic comebacks in tennis history.

Although officially listed as retired since 2022, the 23-time Grand Slam champion has reappeared on the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s International Registered Testing Pool (IRTP), a list reserved for players who could potentially return to competition.

READ: I Was So Distracted by Serena Williams’s Off-the-Shoulder Number

Under ITIA guidelines, athletes must undergo six months of testing before they can enter sanctioned events-fueling speculation that Williams may be preparing for a comeback as early as 2026 or 2027.

Her re-entry into the testing pool is one of the strongest indicators yet that the door to her career may not be fully closed. Despite stepping back from the sport, Williams has consistently hinted that she never viewed her departure as final.

Her presence on the IRTP list, combined with her previous comments, suggests she has kept the possibility of returning very much alive.

Is Serena Williams coming back to tennis?

This isn’t the first time Williams has teased the idea of reclaiming her place on the WTA Tour.

At a TechCrunch Disrupt event in San Francisco in 2022, she openly rejected the idea that she was truly retired.

There, she explained that she still trains on her home court and had recently experienced what it felt like to hit balls without preparing for a tournament-a feeling she described as both “strange” and “freeing”.

In the years since stepping away, the 44-year-old has focused on family, entrepreneurship, and personal wellness.

Williams has also devoted significant effort to rebuilding her fitness, shedding nearly 17 kilograms this year-another detail adding fuel to the comeback rumors.

Her potential return has not gone unnoticed within the tennis world. Novak Djokovic, still playing at an elite level on the ATP Tour at age 38, recently offered a playful but sincere invitation for Williams to rejoin the circuit.

After his first-round win at the US Open, Djokovic, knowing her competitive nature rarely turns down a dare, challenged her to make a comeback.

His comments came after he watched Williams introduce longtime rival Maria Sharapova at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, a moment he described as both gracious and memorable.

One Williams remains in tennis

Meanwhile, the Williams legacy continues on tour through her sister.

Venus Williams remains active on the WTA circuit and reached the quarterfinals of the US Open doubles draw this year alongside Leylah Fernandez.

For now, Serena has offered no formal statement about her future. She has been spotted attending major matches throughout the season, keeping her connection to the sport alive.

Whether her name on the IRTP is a procedural formality or a hint of something bigger remains to be seen, but fans have more reason than ever to hope that one of the game’s greatest champions could step onto the court again.

What John Daly achieved 11 times that Tiger Woods never managed on the PGA Tour

John Daly is a golfing juggernaut in his own way and when it comes to Tiger Woods, he has one up on the 15-time major winner.

As we all know, Woods’ career far outweighs that of Daly in terms of success and achievements.

However, both Daly and Woods are regarded as two of golf’s great personalities and over the decades they’ve been on TOUR, they’ve provided their own unique moments.

Woods, of course, has a record 82 PGA Tour wins to his name and countless other records.

But when it comes to one particular metric on TOUR, it is John Daly who has the upper-hand on Tiger.

John Daly’s longest drive achievement that Tiger Woods never matched

Given the power and speed with which Tiger Woods used to hit the golf ball, it is quite the surprise to see he never actually led the season average for driving distance.

Woods is one of the biggest names in the sport never to achieve it but when it comes to Daly, it was no issue.

In terms of long drive average, Daly was the king. He was the longest hitter on TOUR a whopping 11 times and became the first player to average over the 300 yard mark.

In his last ever year as the longest, Daly averaged north of 306 yards before Hank Kuehne came along in 2003 and 2004 and obliterated that mark.

As for Woods, he never quite managed to be the top dog. Indeed, per Statmuse, Woods peaked in 2005, when he hit it an average of 316.6 yards off the tee.

The longest driver on the PGA Tour in 2025

Many will see this headline and think that Rory McIlroy is the main man for distance in 2025.

However, that is not the case. Instead, it is young up and comer Aldrich Potgieter who takes the crown for the last 12 months.

The young South African averaged 325 yards off the tee, eclipsing Cameron Champ’s 2024 record of 320.7 yards.

However, where McIlroy does reign supreme is he still holds the record for longest average distance.

In 2023, the grand slam champion averaged 326.3 yards, which remains a PGA Tour high and will take some topping.

Surveillance video and an incident report compiled by a manager of a Miami-area strip club detail allegations that boxing star Gervonta “Tank” Davis assaulted and forcibly removed a former girlfriend from the club in late October.

An exhibition fight between Davis and Jake Paul scheduled for Nov. 14 was canceled on Nov. 3, four days after the woman filed a civil lawsuit with the 11th Judicial Circuit Court in Miami-Dade County claiming Davis committed battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress against her.

USA TODAY obtained a copy of the manager’s incident report and, during a FaceTime call, viewed surveillance video that Richard Wolfe, one of the woman’s attorneys, said he obtained from the parent company of the Miami Gardens club through a subpoena.

Artagus Lane, a manager at Tootsie’s Cabaret, said he was working at the club during the alleged attack and later reviewed video from the club’s camera system. He said he documented what he saw for an incident report he filed with Tootsie’s Cabaret.

A copy of the club incident report obtained by USA TODAY Sports lists Lane as the person filing it and in part states, “Mr. Davis could be seen making gestures that gave the impression (the woman) was being forced to leave with him … Mr. Davis continued being physical by grabbing her by the neck and hair.”

Lane also said he interviewed the woman, who works as a VIP waitress at Tootsie’s Cabaret. Her name is being withheld because we does not generally publish the identities of victims of domestic violence.

The woman said she and Davis, 31, had an intimate relationship for five months before the alleged attack took place Oct. 27. The woman also is 31, according to the club incident report Lane said he completed.

“I know she was shooken up and I just want to ensure her that her safety and everything,’’ Lane said.

Ravone Littlejohn, a representative of Davis, declined to comment to USA TODAY Sports. Davis has not commented on the allegations publicly and efforts to reach him directly were unsuccessful.

A spokesperson for Davis on Nov. 24 said the boxer will address the matter in a documentary that will be released after Thanksgiving. The spokesperson, who identified herself only as Sade, said the boxer is in Baltimore, his hometown, hosting a Thanksgiving drive at Davis’ gym, the Uptown Boxing Center.

The matter involving Davis and the alleged incident in Florida is an “active case,” according to the Miami Gardens Police Department. No associated criminal charges had been filed as of Nov. 24.

Strip club incident report details allegations against ‘Tank’ Davis

At 3:51 a.m. on Oct. 27, a manager at Tootsie’s Cabaret heard that one of the staff members “may have been assaulted,” according to a copy of the incident report. A review of video footage revealed an incident did occur, according to the report.

Video footage showed a light-skinned Black man wearing a white shirt and joggers, later identified as Davis, among club patrons, according to the report. Upon seeing the woman, the man approached her and grabbed her behind her head by the hair. The woman was working her shift as a VIP waitress and Davis forced her to walk toward the stairway that leads to the kitchen, the report states.

During a Facetime call, Wolfe, the attorney, allowed USA TODAY Sports to view a copy of the video he said he obtained by subpoena from RCI Hospitality Holdings Inc., the parent company of Tootsie’s Cabaret. Gary Fishman, a spokesman for RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc., said the company would not comment on the matter.

Lane’s report provided a detailed account of the video.

“(The woman) could be seen via camera footage begging for Mr. Davis to stop …,” Lane wrote. “… Once by the stairway you can see Mr. Davis grabbing (the woman) and pushing her by the head, and grabbing her hair in an aggressive manner (shaking it and pulling it back and forth), down the first flight of stairs.”

According to the report, another woman witnessed the incident and was trying to alert a club employee to what was happening. The struggle continued as Davis forced the woman to walk down the stairs and through the kitchen.

“(The woman) begged Mr. Davis not to put his hands on her in front of the staff while walking through the kitchen,” Lane wrote. “After they passed through the kitchen Mr. Davis continued being physical with (her) as she was trying to figure a way to get away from him.”

Eventually, Davis and the woman entered the club’s garage, according to the report, which states the woman told Davis to get the keys to his vehicle from the valet.

“… and once he walked ahead, (the woman) took the chance to run back into the club,” according to the report.

Later, in the manager’s office, the woman explained the details of the incident, also listed in Lane’s report.

“(The woman) was a bit shaking (sic) up and crying from the incident while explaining,” Lane wrote. “(The woman) stated that she and Mr. Davis are acquaintances who has had issues similar to this at another club recently.”

There were no visible injuries after the alleged attack at Tootsie’s Cabaret and the woman declined medical treatment. She declined to press charges and said she needed to think about it, according to the report.

Lane’s report filed with Tootsie’s Cabaret states, “(The woman) said she was a bit scared for what he might do to her outside of work cause he saw her out one night at a night club and choked her out prior to her employment.”

Wolfe, one of the woman’s attorneys, said the woman pressed charges with the Miami Gardens Police Department the same day the civil lawsuit was filed.

Civil matter against Davis stalled by summons delays

When the woman filed her lawsuit, according to court records, she also filed a petition for an injunction, also known as a restraining order.

A judge granted the woman a temporary injunction against Davis and a hearing for the permanent injunction was set for Nov. 12. However, the hearing was rescheduled for Dec. 9 because Davis was not served a summons for the injunction, said Eugenio Carral, director of the Family Courts Department in Miami-Dade County.

Davis must be served a summons before a judge can rule on the petition for injunction, Carral said. He said the temporary injunction typically stays in place for only 120 days before the judge dismisses it if there has been no service on the respondent.

A judge has extended the temporary restraining order in the woman’s lawsuit, according to Carral. He said copies of the new temporary injunction have been sent to both law enforcement offices in Broward County, Florida, and Clark County, Nevada, to attempt service on Davis again.

The docket in the civil case does not show Davis has been served, according to Carral, who said Davis must be served by law enforcement because the allegations constitute a domestic violence case.

Wolfe, one of the woman’s attorneys, said his law firm has tried to serve Davis, too. He said a process server representing his firm had tried unsuccessfully three times. Wolfe shared emails exchanged between his firm and On Demand Process Service in Miami, indicating the call box at Davis’ home does not list Davis’ name.

Davis resides at a home in Southwest Ranches, Florida, according to the woman’s lawsuit. The listed owner of the home is SWR Prime LLC, according to property records.

Davis is on probation from a 2023 hit-and-run case in Baltimore, Maryland, in which he pleaded guilty to multiple traffic offenses. In March, Davis admitted he left the state without permission and his probation was extended by 18 months, according to The Baltimore Banner.

Fighter Floyd Mayweather made cry with brutal KO suffers huge upset loss in world title fight

After Junto Nakatani recently opted to relinquish his IBF and WBC world titles, a vacant WBC title fight between Tenshin Nasukawa and Takuma Inoue was ordered.

Nasukawa has a long history of competing in kickboxing where he was a world champion in RIZIN, and is often regarded as one of the best kickboxers ever.

Despite his dominance in that sport, he opted to make the switch to boxing in 2023, and went on an impressive run of seven wins in a row, immediately putting himself into title contention.

Takuma Inoue, the younger brother of consensus pound-for-pound number one boxer on the planet, Naoya Inoue was looking to bounce back from his WBA world title loss last time out.

Inoue scores huge upset win over Nasukawa

Although this was only Nasukawa’s eighth professional boxing fight, he had already shared the ring with one of the greatest fighters ever, Floyd Mayweather, when the two squared off in an exhibition fight in 2018.

Their bizarre clash in Japan was one of the first high profile crossover fights in the sport, and in some ways, it opened up the door for the crossovers that have since followed.

Even though it was only an exhibition fight, ‘Money’ Mayweather went on to knock Tenshin out in the first round as he toyed with him and laughed at him throughout, resulting in the Japanese fighter crying at the end of the fight.

Despite being most well-known for his kickboxing background, Tenshin came into the fight as a huge favorite on the betting odds, considering his recent dominance in the sport.

However, early in the fight, it was Inoue who had the better of the exchanges and looked to be the more comfortable fighter in the matchup.

Having trained with his brother throughout his camp, his patient approach began to pay dividends as he landed big counter punches on Tenshin, who just couldn’t mount much of an attack.

After a largely tentative 12 rounds in which Inoue edged in the majority, he was awarded the unanimous decision victory and was crowned the new WBC bantamweight world champion, handing Inoue his first ever professional loss.

Inoue almost retired before fight

Despite joining his brother as a world champion, before his fight against Tenshin, Inoue almost retired from the sport.

Following his world title loss to Seiya Tsutsumi last time out, the 29-year-old contemplated retirement as he was unsure that he could rebound to become a world champion again.

Terence Crawford, the undisputed super middleweight champ, is demanding a $100 million purse to grant Canelo Alvarez a rematch.

In September, Crawford moved up two weight classes from 154 lbs to 168 lbs to defeat Canelo by a dominant unanimous decision. The victory made Bud the first male boxer in history to achieve undisputed status across three different weight classes, solidifying his claim as the pound-for-pound best in the world.

Despite the decisive nature of the first contest, reports indicated that Canelo wants a second shot at Crawford. While negotiations are reportedly underway, the dynamics have changed. Canelo’s purse for the first fight was approximately $150 million, while Crawford’s was significantly lower, allegedly in the region of $50 million. Now, Crawford holds all the leverage. One of Crawford’s trainers, Bernie Tha Boxer, says the figure is $100 million for a rematch.

“Let me say this one last time, if they don’t give him $100 million, it ain’t happening. Them is Crawford’s words,” Bernie Tha Boxer

Does Bud Deserve It?

The most powerful argument for Crawford’s demand is the massive financial disparity of the initial bout. By demanding $100 million for the rematch, Crawford is simply seeking a figure that reflects his newly acquired status as the winner and the new undisputed champion. This demand serves to rebalance the scales.

Canelo’s entire motivation for the rematch is to reclaim his undisputed status and restore his legacy, which was tarnished by the decisive loss. Crawford now holds the asset Canelo needs. In the business of boxing, the person who holds the power is justified in setting the price for the challenger who desperately wants it back. The $100 million is the price for Canelo to get his legacy back.

I Was So Distracted by Serena Williams’s Off-the-Shoulder Number That I Almost Missed This Royal Reunion

Serena Williams certainly know how to hold a spotlight. The tennis superstar has always been someone to watch, both on and off the court, but in the years since her retirement from professional sports she’s definitely amped things up when it comes to her wardrobe. Which is perhaps why I almost totally missed Williams’s recent reunion with royal bestie Meghan Markle at the Baby2Baby Gala earlier this month.

The annual Baby2Baby Gala, held in early early November in Los Angeles, is always a star-studded event, but especially so this year. Williams was honored with the “Giving Tree Award” for her long-standing advocacy for maternal health and as such drew in a crowd of all her celeb friends, of which there are many. Including none other than Meghan Markle.

The two California gals have a friendship that goes way back, although they haven’t been spotted together in public in some time. Last summer the pair shut the ESPYs red carpet down posing together is two drastically different halterneck gowns Williams went with bold red scale-shaped sequins and feather embellishment, while Markle opted for simple white silk very reminiscent of her Stella McCartney wedding reception dress.

This time around both women went with classic black (Markle in a full-coverage turtleneck and Williams in an old-Hollywood off-the-should beauty), looking supremely elegant while celebrating a good cause and Williams’s award.

Of course, Markle’s husband Prince Harry was there too. Unsurprisingly, he opted for a classic black suit for the evening, but was sure to pin on a red poppy to his jacket to mark the UK’s Remembrance Day. What a chic trio!

Here’s hoping we’re treated to more BFF moments with Markle and Williams in the near future.

Charlie Woods’ big year gets even better by collecting this impressive junior golf honor

A big year got even better for Charlie Woods after receiving a big junior golf honor.

The 16-year-old son of 15-time major champ Tiger Woods has impressed many with his golf game in 2025. Woods won the AJGA’s Team TaylorMade event in May, qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur for a second straight year in July and finished T-9 at the Junior PGA in August.

Canelo Chases Crawford Rematch With No Other Options

Canelo Alvarez’s decision to take on Terence Crawford in a rematch in 2026 is one of necessity. The Mexican star has no other options but to try and avenge his loss to the soon-to-be 39-year-old Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs.

As Chris Mannix mentions, Canelo (63-3-2, 39 KOs) lacks options at super middleweight against notable fighters. Crawford is better known than the top fighters at 168 lb.

“Crawford, his people have told me they’ve offered Canelo the rematch a couple of times in the last few months,” said Chris Mannix on his channel. “He [Canelo] is looking for a Terence Crawford rematch next year. He’s probably talking about September 2026.

“This is the first time that we’ve heard Canelo say publicly that he wants a rematch with [Crawford].” The payday that Canelo will get fighting Crawford again would draw if he were to fight anyone else, aside from David Benavidez.

“This one stings,” said Sergio Mora about Canelo losing to an older, smaller Crawford. “Bud Crawford isn’t bigger, stronger, or younger.

He just lost to a fighter that he shouldn’t have lost against for all the belts. That he needs to get back.” Alvarez could have turned down the Crawford fight. It would have saved himself the humiliation of losing to a smaller, older fighter..

It would have been better for him to have agreed to face David Benavidez. At least if Canelo lost to Benavidez, he wouldn’t look as bad due to his being smaller and older. “Maybe the injuries held him back in training camp.

Because it was a great performance on Bud’s part, I want to see if he can do it again. I want to see if Canelo can find another way to beat this man.” It wasn’t the injuries that caused Canelo to gas out after eight rounds.

That was his cardio, which has been a problem for him for years. A rematch won’t be any different. For Alvarez to win, he’s got to build up a wide enough lead in the first seven rounds so that Crawford can’t come on late to steal a decision.

“Canelo has nowhere to go. He’s in the twilight of his career, and he’s already cleaned out everyone relevant at 168,” said Mannix.

Money-wise, Canelo’s best payday besides a fight against David Benavidez would be against Crawford in a rematch. He hasn’t “cleaned out” the 168-lb division.

Several fighters would have an excellent chance of beating him, but they’re not as popular as Crawford. He wasn’t popular until Turki Alalshikh started putting him in the main events on his cards.

Canelo has no choice but to try to avenge his loss to Crawford. It looks bad on his part that he didn’t push for the rematch immediately after losing last September.

Manny Pacquiao appears to be standing at a crossroads.

On one hand, there’s the inaugural U.S. event of his venture, Manny Pacquiao Promotions. But more significantly, he seems anxious about the professional debut of his son, Emanuel “Jimuel” Pacquiao.

The 24-year-old recently became a father. Probably that explains why Manny sounded a bit uncertain when asked about the possibility of a rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

JUST IN: Once an Undisputed Heavyweight Fight, Wilder vs Ruiz Reignites

The prospect of a second fight between the two boxing legends continues to capture the public’s imagination. Given their age, retirements, and post-retirement lives, many remain cautious. However, a few still long for a definitive conclusion to a saga widely viewed as unfinished. Their title fight a decade ago was expected to be a classic, but instead proved underwhelming. Most remember the ‘Fight of the Century’ more for its financial success than its excitement. Floyd Mayweather walked away with the win, but with reports of Manny Pacquiao suffering a shoulder injury and adopting a cautious strategy, many felt their rivalry deserved another chapter to settle lingering doubts. Still, judging by Pacquiao’s latest comments, fans can only hope that Pacquiao vs. Mayweather II eventually materializes.

Manny Pacquiao tight-lipped on Mayweather rematch

At the pre-fight event at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, Fight Hub TV’s Michelle Joy Phelps caught up with the Filipino boxing icon. Getting straight to the point, she asked about the possibility of a rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

Boxing’s only eight-division world champion seemed slightly uneasy. “I don’t know; I’m just no comment for…. I’m still active, but let’s see.” But Phelps pressed further, asking Pacquiao for a tentative timeline fans could look forward to.

Again, his response was evasive. “I don’t know,” Pacquiao said, prompting Phelps to burst into laughter. He gave a similar answer in an earlier interview. Speaking about his post-retirement career and the rumored rematch, he remained cautious: “Right now, God is good; he is giving me strength so I can continue my career as a boxer.” When asked whether Mayweather would be his first choice for a comeback fight, he simply replied, “It depends.”

“I’m a fighter, so I’m not ducking anybody,” Pacquiao stated.

Mayweather-Pacquiao 2 buzz grows; Pacquiao keeps himself ready

In fact, he had already hinted at his intentions months ago when he returned from a four-year hiatus to face champion Mario Barrios. Continually asked about a potential rematch with Mayweather, Pacquiao shot back during the post-fight press conference, “If he comes out, then go sign the contract, and we will fight,” after a reporter wondered whether his dominant performance might entice Mayweather back into the ring.

I mean, let’s fight again if he wants. I have no problem with that. I’m active now. I don’t pick my opponent,” Pacquiao added.

Just days before the bout, a tweet from respected boxing journalist Lance Pugmire drew significant attention. He wrote, “Went over to @FloydMayweather Boxing Club upon my arrival today in Vegas for @MannyPacquiao fight week; was told to expect Floyd to attend with two fighters on the card. “Conversations are already happening … if Manny wins, this (rematch) could be worth billions,” I was told.”

Months later, another report emerged indicating that Mike Coppinger had received information suggesting Mayweather-Pacquiao II could potentially land on Netflix in 2026, further fueling speculation.

Still, as Pacquiao reiterated in his latest interview, the rematch remains uncertain. Fans will have to stay tuned as more information unfolds in the coming months.
