Mike Tyson insists a severe case of foot fungus is “kicking his a***”.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion had been suffering from the infection in silence, but opened up about his struggles during a Tuesday night taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Kimmel picked up on the fact that Tyson never wears socks and so asked him why.

“I only used to [not wear socks] for fighting, where that was my image,” Tyson replied.

“It was real hardcore, no socks. Then I discovered I had a very disintegrating dose of foot fungus.

“And it was really bad. It’s still really bad now.”

Kimmel then quipped: “Would you say that foot fungus is your greatest opponent of all?”

To which, Tyson joked: “Well, I would have to say so because it’s still kicking my a*** now.”

Foot fungus can traditionally be treated with creams, sprays and powders from a pharmacy.

However, Tyson insists he has tried these methods to no avail.

“Desenex cannot help me,” added Tyson. “My toes look like they blew up.”

Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul after stepping on his toes

During the final face-off for his comeback fight with Jake Paul last November, Tyson slapped the YouTuber-turned-boxer after he stepped on his toes.

Tyson slapped Paul during their face-off on Thursday as tempers flared

There appeared to be minimal contact from Paul, but Tyson’s latest admission explains why he flipped out.

“I was in my socks and he had on shoes,” Tyson told The Post moments after the weigh-in.

“He stepped on my toe because he is a f****** a***hole. I wanted to think it happened by accident.

“But now I think it may have happened on purpose. I was in a lot of pain. I had to reciprocate.”

Will Mike Tyson box again?

Boxing fans had hoped that Tyson’s bout with Paul would be his last.

However, the 59-year-old has since announced an upcoming exhibition bout with Floyd Mayweather.

Despite the shock-factor, Mayweather vs Tyson is anticipated to bring in huge numbers

Details on the exact date and venue were not confirmed, although it has been earmarked for Spring 2026.

Las Vegas and Saudi Arabia are said to be the potential locations in the running, with CSI Sports/Fight Sports set to stage the event.

Floyd Mayweather Is Relieved He Never Shared The Ring With One Champion

Undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather recently revealed his relief at dodging a showdown with one former world champion in particular

‘Money’ Mayweather crossed paths with many of the greatest fighters of his generation during his glittering professional career, becoming a world champion in no less than five weight classes along the way.

The Michigan-native walked away from the sport with an unblemished record of 50-0 to his name, defeating the likes of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Shane Mosley, Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao to name just a few.

One man that Mayweather did not end up crossing paths with during his career was three-time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito, who became the subject of a controversial situation involving his hand wraps ahead of his 2009 showdown with Mosley.

In a resurfaced interview with Fight Hype, Mayweather admitted that he was relieved to have not faced Margarito during his tenure, although he claims that he was ‘never afraid’ of ‘The Tijuana Tornado’.

“Antonio Margarito said over and over again that I was afraid of him. He was pressing, and he wanted to fight so badly, because he was beating fighters with loaded gloves (with ‘casts’), so I’m glad God didn’t let that fight happen. Because you don’t know what kind of effect it would have had on me.

“Those (punches) would have wreaked havoc after my boxing career was over. He could have ended up killing me in the ring, you don’t know what could happen. So sometimes you have certain signals (to face fighters or not), I was never afraid of him and at that particular moment it didn’t make sense for us to fight.”

Whilst he enjoyed considerable success during his career, where he became a world welterweight champion several times, Margarito found himself a villain when he was caught using illegal hand wraps before his world title defence against Mosley in 2009.

Margarito would go on to suffer a ninth round stoppage defeat to ‘Sugar Shane’ following this, surrendering his WBA welterweight title at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Matchroom chairman Eddie Hearn, who is the career-long promoter of Anthony Joshua, has commented on the mounting speculation that the former two-time heavyweight boxing champion will square-off with Jake Paul for a bout tentatively planned for December on Netflix.

The American, a former influencer who has emerged as an improbable face for the sport, if not crossover boxing at least, was scheduled to take part in an exhibition alongside Gervonta Davis on the 14th of November. However, the event at the Kaseya Center in Miami was nixed at the eleventh hour due to Tank’s apparent legal issues. With the cancellation so close to the event itself, Most Valuable Promotions chose to cancel the entire thing rather than bring in a late replacement. After getting rebuffed in their efforts to lure Francis Ngannou back to the ring, the focus now, it seems, is Joshua.

And, speaking to Boxing News, Hearn has had his say on whether the fight will go down as planned.

Joshua and Paul were linked with one another earlier in the year, but the 28-year-old chose to close a deal with Davis, despite eight inches in height and more than 75 pounds in weight between them. Now, AJ appears to be firmly back in the mix.

Speaking to Boxing News, Hearn confirmed “we’ve spoken to Nakisa” Bidarian, who is Paul’s business partner and co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions.

“For us, it’s a fight we’d be interested in. If AJ is going to come back for a tune-up, or a warm-up, why not do it against Jake Paul for a load of money?”

Jake Paul

Hearn continued: “Jake Paul would have to be mad to take this fight, but he is a little bid mad. I can’t rule it out. I can’t tell you, ‘It’s close’, or, ‘It’s on the verge’.”

“But there have been discussions and we’ll see what happens.”

Hearn’s plan and Paul’s desperation for a marquee December vision seemingly align with the way in which Matchroom wants to bring Joshua back. There were even rumors AJ could fight in a co-main spot, rather than a headline bout, against a lesser fighter just to get rounds in the bank as he’s not competed for more than 13 months back.

A fight against Paul would easily be winnable for Joshua, setting him up with a significant payday before he heads back to the negotiation table for the only bout that makes sense for him at this stage of his career — an all-British battle against fellow former champion Tyson Fury, despite the latter’s claims that he’s retired.

Former long-reigning heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is gearing up for a productive 2026.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ made his long-awaited return to action back in June when he stopped countryman Tyrrell Herndon in the seventh round of their clash at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

The 40-year-old from Alabama had reportedly been on the verge of retiring from the sport after he suffered consecutive defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, but the former WBC heavyweight champion has set his sights on pushing towards becoming a two-time heavyweight champion next year.

Speaking to renowned livestreamer N3on recently, Wilder revealed that he has signed a contract for a fight that is set to take place in January, as he claims he is looking forward to a ‘big year’.

“I do have something coming up. We’re looking in January. I’ve signed the contract already. I can’t [give] no details at this point, but it’s definitely live. It’s gonna happen. I got a big year next year, I’m looking forward to it … all I can say is two-time. Let’s go.”

It remains to be seen exactly who Wilder’s next opponent will be however, considering Ukrainian superstar Oleksandr Usyk currently holds all four of the major world heavyweight titles.

Reports have suggested that ‘The Bronze Bomber’ could be in line to face former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou next, although it is also being speculated that he could be pursuing a long-awaited showdown with two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, who is gearing up to make his return to action as well.

Any of these big nights under the lights is likely to come after this January return, which manager Shelly Finkel has said will happen ‘overseas.’

Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that the former two-Time heavyweight champion has already been in contact with Paul, opening up possibilities for new meetings in the ring.

“We talked about it, and maybe it could happen,” Hearn said.

Joshua continues to look for new chances to return to the ring after recent difficulties in his career.

Considering the new opportunities emerging in the boxing arena as well as changes in fight schedules, this situation could significantly impact Joshua’s career.

Watching the developments, boxing fans are waiting to see if this fight will actually take place and what consequences it will have for both boxers.

Oleksandr Usyk quietly plots his next move, with numerous top contenders vying for their shot to share the ring with him.

The great Ukrainian became undisputed in the heavyweight division for a second time earlier this year when he knocked Daniel Dubois out at Wembley Stadium.

He now has a mandatory challenger in Fabio Wardley to face, as well as WBC Interim Champion Agit Kabayel waiting in the wings. Whilst Usyk has remained relatively tight-lipped on his next move, he has made it clear he is likely to fight again.

As the top contenders make their case for a shot at the throne, former three-belt champion Andy Ruiz Jr has joined the charge. In fact, speaking to Covers, Ruiz revealed that the undisputed Ukrainian recently messaged him saying he was open to a fight if things aligned.

“Maybe like a few weeks ago, I was messaging Usyk. I guess he sent me a message or something. I was like, ‘Hey, much love, brother. I would love to get in the ring with you. It would be a pleasure.’ And then he was like, “In God’s timing, we will do it. We will run it up.” And I was like, “‘Oh, snap.’”

For the match-up to be a serious possibility, Ruiz must get busy fighting. He has been out of the ring since a draw with Jarrell Miller in August of 2024. Prior to that, he fought once in 2022 – a win over Luiz Ortiz – and once in 2021, beating Chris Arreola.

‘The Destroyer’s career highlight remains a shock win over Anthony Joshua in 2019 to become unified champion. He would lose those belts in the rematch six months later, and must find form and convince fans of his remaining potential before being mentioned alongside Usyk. Recent hand surgery and a link-up with former trainer Manny Robles seem to have him motivated.

Terence Crawford’s New Gig Proves He’s Winning Outside The Ring Too

Following his September 13 win against Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford has become one of the biggest superstars in boxing. Considering Canelo is considered the face of boxing, that isn’t surprising.

Crawford made history last month, becoming the first male boxer to win the undisputed title in three different weight classes. The 38-year-old has a lot of options open to him inside the ring now, including a possible Canelo rematch.

Outside the ring, Crawford’s stock is also rising, and he’s now been seen rubbing shoulders with stars outside of the sport. And in his latest opportunity outside the ring, Crawford has now kicked off his modeling career.

Crawford has been featured by Haute Living, a luxury website and magazine, modeling some costly Ulysse Nardin watches, which can cost from the tens to the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

@tbudcrawford is the only male fighter in history to become a three time undisputed champion across five weight divisions, a legacy defined by discipline, strategy, and undeniable greatness.

Crawford has been fighting at the world championship level for the majority of his career and boasts an undefeated record of 42-0-0 with 31 knockout wins. Apart from being undisputed in three weight classes, he is a five-division world champion.

However, he has never received the recognition that he’s getting now, with his reach now expanding beyond the boxing ring and into the mainstream.

Crawford was also featured in a separate Instagram post playing a game of ‘Haute or Not’.

Terence Crawford reflects on Canelo Alvarez win

In his legendary career, one thing Crawford has never lacked is confidence. The same was the case for his win against Canelo on September 13. Being well prepared, ‘Bud’ was fully confident in his ability, despite the naysayers pointing out his two-weight division jump as an issue. He said:

“I was confident one thousand percent. Everybody who didn’t believe in me was surprised. I wasn’t. I’d been telling people what was going to happen from the moment the fight got signed.”

Terence Crawford

Despite all the glitter and glory, Crawford remains grounded. There’s nothing concrete regarding his next career move yet. However, reports suggest that he is aiming for a March return, with the middleweight division in Crawford’s sight.

While moving up to super middleweight from 154 pounds, he skipped over 154. Winning world titles in that division would further seal him as one of the best to lace up a pair of gloves.

Canelo Álvarez breaks his silence and addresses rumors of a split with Eddy Reynoso

Over the past few days, rumors had surfaced suggesting that Canelo Álvarez had split from his longtime trainer, Eddy Reynoso.

To address the speculation, the Mexican boxing star broke his silence on social media with a clear message meant to put the doubts to rest: “Thank you for everything,” he wrote.

Canelo Álvarez’s Message to Eddy Reynoso

Determined to end the growing speculation surrounding his relationship with Reynoso — one that spans many years — Canelo shared a post today featuring two photos of himself alongside his trainer to wish him a happy birthday.

The message accompanying the post was brief but powerful, and many saw it as a reaffirmation of the bond between the two:

“Happy birthday, apá. Wishing you many, many more. I love you so much — thank you for everything, always.”

With this post, Canelo Álvarez indirectly confirmed that he will continue working with Eddy Reynoso in preparation for his upcoming fights — a significant clarification given that the Guadalajara-born fighter still has several bouts lined up for 2026.

A Show of Unity After a Tough Loss

The message comes on the heels of Canelo’s unexpected defeat to Terence Crawford, a result that left many fans and analysts stunned and put the Mexican champion in a challenging position looking ahead.

Despite the speculation, his relationship with Reynoso appears solid — at least judging by this public gesture.

Just days before this post, Canelo had shared another video on social media showing Reynoso and other close friends congratulating him on his 20-year boxing career.

“How’s it going, my champ? Congratulations on these 20 historic years. It’s truly been an honor to share so many of them with you — and the ones still to come. Keep going, my champion! There are a lot of people here who love you and are proud of everything you’ve achieved in the ring,” Reynoso said, reaffirming his loyalty and support for the boxer as they look ahead to the next chapter together.

Ever since news broke that Jake Paul’s November 14 bout against Gervonta “Tank” Davis was cancelled due to a domestic violence lawsuit filed against Davis at the end of October, Paul has been scrambling to find a new opponent.

Paul’s team has made it clear that, while the initial November 14 date is now off the table, they still fully intend for Paul to headline a Netflix card by the end of 2025. December 12 and December 19 appear to be the most likely dates for this fight to take place.

However, given the high standard Netflix has set with its previous boxing events, they aren’t going to settle for Paul fighting against some no-name boxer. This is why Paul has reportedly reached out to several of the sport’s biggest names to see if they’d be willing to face him next month. These include Terence Crawford, Ryan Garcia, Francis Ngannou, and MMA legend Nate Diaz. I

Jake Paul’s Stance on Potential Canelo Alvarez Fight Turns Heads

It was interesting to see that Paul didn’t reportedly reach out to Canelo Alvarez’s team to potentially fill in. Then again, not only is Canelo still on the mend from elbow surgery after his September loss to Terence Crawford, but he and Paul were deep in fight negotiations earlier this year before Canelo pivoted at the last minute and signed a four-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh instead.

Turki was very opposed to Canelo fighting Paul as one of those four fights, which is why Canelo pivoted. However, a comment Paul made about potentially facing Canelo in the future from a November 6 ESPN article suggests Turki Alalshikh might have changed his mind.

“I think Turki is the man who can make it happen,” Paul said of fighting Canelo. “I’m open to it, Turki has expressed some interest in it, and, obviously, Canelo had already signed up to fight me, so I think all that is left to do is to make it happen.”

Canelo vs Crawford

The fact that Turki “has expressed some interest” in making this fight happen is a complete change of heart compared to how he felt about Paul vs. Canelo (and Paul in general) earlier this year.

Paul is right in saying that Turki has more than enough influence to make this fight happen, which means this once nearly-finalized fight could come to fruition as soon as 2026.

Anthony Joshua has major roadblock cleared for blockbuster fight as ban lifted

Ghana’s National Sports Authority has lifted its nationwide professional boxing ban, in a boost to Anthony Joshua.

The NSA suspended the sport after the deaths of two pugilists in the space of six months.

In March, Nigeria’s Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju collapsed mid-way through his bout with Jon Mbanugu at Bukom Boxing Arena in the Ghanaian capital of Accra before later dying in hospital at the age of 40.

Then, in September, 27-year-old hometown fighter Ernest Akushey passed away after a stoppage loss to Jacob Dickson in the same venue.

The NSA didn’t make the decision lightly and did so in order to come up with a new set of reforms to improve the safety of the national sport.

After much deliberation, the NSA confirmed on Thursday that all boxing activities are now permitted to resume following ‘significant progress in addressing the key issues that led to its suspension.’

The statement also read that: “The Authority looks forward to a vibrant return of professional boxing and also encourages local as well as foreign promoters – investors to bring international bouts and collaborations to Ghana under these enhanced standards.”

What does this mean for Anthony Joshua?

Amidst the ban, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing announced its first show in West Africa on December 20, headlined by a light heavyweight clash between Craig Richards and Dan Azeez.

The British compatriots are set to meet at the Legom Sports Stadium in Accra, Ghana, in an event that Hearn has described as a crucial ‘precursor’ for a potential AJ fight in the same city in February.

Joshua hasn’t set foot in the ring since his crushing knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

He was initially expected to fight again in the second quarter of 2025, but surgery on a lingering elbow injury delayed his return.

Hearn recently declared that Joshua could launch a comeback at the back end of this year on the undercard of one of Matchroom’s remaining shows.

At the time of writing, there are eight separate events that Matchroom is either promoting or co-promoting before the end of 2025.

The biggest of these is the Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn rematch on November 15 in London, which seems extremely unlikely due to the tight timeframe.

Jesse Rodriguez is also set to square off against Fernando Martinez in a super flyweight unification on the RING IV bill on November 22, while Ben Whittaker tops a homecoming card on November 29.

Other events include Jai Opetaia vs Huseyin Cinkara and Shabaz Masoud vs Peter McGrail on December 6, Diego Pacheco vs Kevin Sadjo on December 13, Giorgio Visoli vs Joe Haworth on December 17, and Richards vs Azeez on December 20.

The final major show of the year is Ring V on December 27, headlined by Naoya Inoue vs Alan Picasso.

However, Matchroom is not listed as a promoter, even though it is advertised on their website.
