Deontay Wilder has revealed his plans for a return to the big time in 2026 after making a successful comeback in June.

“The Bronze Bomber” knocked out Tyrell Herndon in the seventh round in Kansas, and is now targeting another shot at a world title next year.

“I do have something coming up,” Wilder told live streamer N3on. “We’re looking in January. I’ve signed the contract already. I can’t [give] no details at this point, but it’s definitely live.

“It’s gonna happen. I’ve got a big year next year. I’m looking forward to it… All I can say is two-time [world champion]. Let’s go.”

The former WBC heavyweight champion has long been linked with a fight against Anthony Joshua, which at one time would have been for the undisputed heavyweight titles.

Anthony Joshua is also mooted for a return in early 2026, and Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel recently named the Brit as their priority target.

“Our first choice [of opponent] always would be (Anthony) Joshua,” Finkel told Box Nation. “But if we can’t get Joshua — if we could get [Oleksandr] Usyk, we’d fight him.

“I believe [a fight with Joshua] is the biggest fight for him.”

A fight with Joshua aligns with both men’s goals of setting themselves up for one last roll of the dice later in 2026 as they both enter the twilight of their careers.

Wilder does not, however, possess the star power he once did to demand big fights after losing four of his last six fights at the top level, and he has also been linked with a surprising fight against British cult hero, Dave Allen.

Allen revealed that if he beats Arslanbek Makhmudov this weekend, his promoter, Eddie Hearn, is lining him up for a fight against Wilder, potentially paving the way for his own run at a big payday or even a world title.

Deontay Wilder is hoping to finally get his hands on Anthony Joshua in either late 2025 or early 2026.

Joshua and Wilder have seen multiple attempts to get their fight over the line fall by the wayside over the years.

In 2019, when both men held all four major sanctioning body belts between them, plans were in place for the pair to square off after Wilder’s draw with Tyson Fury.

DAZN offered Wilder $100million to sign an exclusive three-fight broadcasting deal with them, including two bouts with AJ.

However, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ declined the proposal as he felt it wasn’t ‘truthful’.

Flash forward to the present day, and neither man possesses a world title nor are they considered to be two of the top heavyweights on the planet.

Yet, Wilder’s manager, Shelly Finkel, believes there is still significant appetite for the fight.

Especially, from his client who places AJ at the top of his hit list.

Asked about Wilder’s next steps during an interview with BoxNation, Finkel said: “I’m going to see him next week in New York.

“He is training, and he is going to be fighting again at the end of the year or early next [year].

“Our first choice [of opponent] always would be (Anthony) Joshua.

“But if we can’t get Joshua — if we could get (Oleksandr) Usyk, we’d fight him.

“I believe [a fight with Joshua] is the biggest fight for him…

“And it’s the fight of the last decade, hopefully it’s this one.

“[The fight is] not as big as it was, but it’s enormous. Enormous.

“It would sell out any of the smaller arenas, and maybe with a good undercard, it could sell out a Wembley.”

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder’s recent form

Both Joshua and Wilder are entering the twilight of their careers, meaning they must act fast if they hope to get the fight over the line.

Joshua hasn’t stepped between the ropes since his devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, and is expected to launch a comeback in early 2026 before one last roll of the dice in the summer.

Wilder returned to winning ways in June against the unheralded Tyrrell Herndon after losing four of his previous five fights.

But the Tucaloosa boxer left a lot to be desired with his performance, and has looked like a shadow of his former self since his trilogy with Fury.

Deontay Wilder Catches Strays as Canelo-Crawford Undercard in Jeopardy After Heavyweight Pull Out

Jarrell Miller threw a single stone — which seems to have hit two birds at the same time. The Brooklyn-born heavyweight, currently ranked sixth on the WBA roster, went on an unfiltered rant. Clips of him slamming fellow heavyweights Jared Anderson and Deontay Wilder have been steadily gaining attention. According to Miller, while Anderson pulled out of a fight, Wilder is actively avoiding one.

For now, there have been no official statements confirming Jarrell Miller’s claims. The heavyweight, whose career hit a major roadblock due to a doping controversy, gradually clawed his way back into the divisional standings. A knockout loss to Daniel Dubois served as a rude awakening. But a draw against former champion Andy Ruiz Jr. helped him remain in contention. Reports suggested a fight between Miller and Jared Anderson, who has been dealing with his own set of challenges, could feature on next month’s Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez undercard. If Miller’s claims are true, fans may miss out on what could have been an intriguing thriller.

Jarrell Miller posted two videos. One taking potshots at Jared Anderson, and the other mocking Deontay Wilder. “😱 OMG @jaredanderson419 Pulled out of the fight, @bronzebomber is still softer than baby shit,” read the caption on his post. Speaking from inside his car, Miller appeared relaxed and composed.

Jared Anderson has pulled out of the fight. We all see it coming though,” Jarrell Miller said. According to him, there appears to be some discontent within Anderson’s promoters, Top Rank. Taunting the young heavyweight for “getting high,” Miller added that a search for Anderson’s replacement is already underway. “Ain’t going to lie, I’m sick right now, but you kind of figured Jared was going to pull that sh*t,” he said.

But Jarrell Miller wasn’t finished. It appears there was an attempt to line up Deontay Wilder for a fight. However, according to Miller, the former heavyweight champion pulled out. Wilder, for his part, reportedly felt that Miller was too disrespectful and brash. So responding to that, Miller said, “If you had a problem with what I was saying, get in the ring and punch in my face. Get in the ring and try to knock me out.

However, Jarrell Miller seems certain that Deontay Wilder will not accept a fight with him on the Crawford-Canelo undercard.

Jarrell Miller’s war of words

For now, fans may have to take Miller’s words for what they are — just claims. As Ring Magazine reported, Turki Alalshikh had expressed interest in a super middleweight bout between interim champion Christian Mbilli and Lester Martinez to feature alongside the proposed Miller-Anderson clash on the Crawford-Canelo undercard.

The other day, Miller raised several eyebrows when he claimed to have the key to solving the Usyk puzzle. “I would run him over. Usyk has a problem with guys who put their chin down and want to bang out,” he’s reported to have said recently.

Still, a fight between Jarrell Miller and Jared Anderson, or, for that matter, Deontay Wilder, would have been an exciting addition to the September 13 card at Allegiant Stadium. Given his flair for hyperbole, Miller would likely have helped boost the hype.

More shocking videos leaked of Deontay Wilder’s ex-trainer

Deontay Wilder’s former trainer, Malik Scott, is again at the center of a viral storm after additional explicit videos from his time with ex-girlfriend Nancy Ramirez surfaced online.

The latest clips, which follow a pair of previously leaked videos, have begun circulating across social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter). They show Scott engaging in graphic, uncensored adult content with Ramirez.

The footage is from the couple’s former OnlyFans account, ‘Malik and Nancy,’ which he widely teased during their relationship but never publicly confirmed to be as explicit as it now appears.

World Boxing News previously interviewed the couple at the height of their risqué photo campaign, when they stirred online attention with sensual modeling shots.

Viral Videos from a ‘Walking Masterpiece’
At the time, Scott told WBN, “It’s pretty cool. I get to express myself publicly in a sexy way with her. Nancy is juicy and beautiful with a great intellect. She’s a walking masterpiece.”

Scott added, “It only takes under a second to unfollow us, but if you’re enjoying the show, then go get yourself some popcorn because the best is yet to come.”

With the recent video dumps, that popcorn line has taken on an entirely different meaning as shocking clips circulate for all to see. There’s little Scott can do despite his relationship status going through an upgrade.

Malik Scott’s Personal and Professional Transformation
Scott and Ramirez have split. The former heavyweight contender, who Wilder famously knocked out in under two minutes in 2014, has since moved on and married Kate Abdo, a CBS and ex-Sky Sports presenter.

Meanwhile, Scott’s professional credentials came under fire again as Wilder announced the pair had split before his fight with Tyrrell Herndon.

The ex-heavyweight presided over a rough patch in Wilder’s career, but couldn’t stop the rot. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ ended things as media and fan calls kept getting louder.

Now, with Wilder back in the win column and Scott working with Gilberto Ramirez most recently, the amicable split seems like perfect timing.

Both Wilder and Scott look to be back on track with their separated careers, with OnlyFans no longer an option for the latter if his coaching career doesn’t work out.

Oleksandr Usyk’s newly appointed team director, Sergey Lapin, has confirmed to WBN that a high-stakes clash with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder remains a realistic option, depending on what unfolds next in the division.

Following Usyk’s dominant rematch victory over Daniel Dubois on July 19 at Wembley Stadium, Lapin exclusively told WBN that they won’t shut the door on facing the American knockout artist.

Usyk vs Wilder is a Realistic Option
“A fight with Wilder is potentially possible, but it all depends on the circumstances,” Lapin explained. “At the moment, he’s not even a mandatory contender.”

While Wilder has suffered defeats in three of his last five bouts, including a devastating trilogy finale against Tyson Fury, Lapin believes the former champion still carries real danger.

“Wilder remains one of the most powerful punchers in boxing, but it’s clear he’s at a crossroads,” he said. “Still, it would be a mistake to count him out — he’s unpredictable, and that makes him dangerous.”

Usyk, now 2-0 against Dubois after shutting out the Brit in London, has a packed mandatory schedule that includes bouts with WBO number one Joseph Parker, WBC challenger Agit Kabayel, and Kubrat Pulev for the WBA.

Wilder’s Legacy and the Road Back to Contention
However, if a gap opens in the rotation, Wilder’s name is firmly in the conversation.

Lapin’s comments signal that Team Usyk is still open to marquee fights outside the mandatory queue, especially if they bring high drama and global intrigue.

Whether Wilder can earn his way back into contention or force his way in through the Saudi promotional machine again remains to be seen.

Victory over Tyrrell Herndon last month failed to set the world alight, and Wilder knows another win – and a higher profile one at that – is needed to reignite his fire in the top division.

WBN has long championed Wilder as a realistic opponent for Usyk, who has defeated every other significant name in the division. Other than Wilder, retirement seems more likely than anything else for the undisputed champion.

Deontay Wilder is currently plotting his next move in the heavyweight division.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ recently returned to action with a seventh round stoppage win over Tyrrell Herndon, ending a poor run of form that had seen Wilder lose four fights over the past few years.

Despite the win over Herndon, some fans still believe that Wilder should consider hanging up the gloves due to him being a far cry from the man that was the long-reigning WBC heavyweight champion, especially with him now being 39-years-old.

Wilder doesn’t appear to have any plans to retire though, telling The Fighter’s Voice that he must take on Anthony Joshua at some stage before calling him on his career.

“Most definitely [the AJ fight will happen]… we’re still in it and we’re still active and we’re gonna meet each other.

“You know it’s a lot of great things that has been going on in boxing you know with different people that’s getting involved and making the best fights happen at this appropriate time, you know and I’m looking forward to it all.

“I don’t have no time to take no steps back, you know we have a strategic plan that we have planned set for and we’re following along with it but if we have to take certain shortcuts and certain things we will do so. I am a veteran in this business at this moment in time and I love every bit of it.”

Joshua was last in action in September 2024, suffering a fifth round knockout to Daniel Dubois. He’s been linked to a clash with Wilder for a number of years, but as of yet it has never been able to come to fruition.

With Wilder making it clear that he wants the Joshua fight, one fellow heavyweight who has suffered defeats to both men has delivered his verdict for how it may unfold.

Anthony Joshua will return to the ring before the year is out.

The Watford powerhouse has been out of action since suffering a devastating knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois last September.

During his hiatus, AJ underwent elbow surgery, which will keep him out of high-intensity training for a few more weeks.

But with the end of his rehabilitation in sight, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has begun talking to his client about his next steps.

“AJ is going to get back into the ring around November, December,” Hearn told talkSPORT.com.

“He’s chilled. We don’t decide his opponent, he will, with his training team.

“But collectively, we will say, ‘Here are four or five guys, what do we think? What do we like?’

“Obviously, you do have to be conscious of a potential fight with Tyson Fury, but we are not going to hang around forever, so you need to come back with a good win, and that will be the plan at the end of the year…

“There have been some texts back and forth between me and him [about his next fight].

“He is a student of the game, he watches every heavyweight fight.

“So we just go, ‘What do you think about this guy?’

“But his general reaction is ‘Yeah, no problem’. I have never known him to say no to anyone.

“Maybe that is where we have maybe slipped up a couple of times.

“But that is the nature of man. He has fought everybody in his career, and he will continue to do so.”

A fight with Fury is not expected to come next as ‘The Gypsy King’ isn’t planning on competing again until 2026.

However, AJ could end up in the ring with another one of his long-time rivals, Deontay Wilder.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ returned to winning ways last weekend with a stoppage victory over underhanded American Tyrrell Herndon.

Hearn is currently in talks with Wilder’s manager, Shelly Finkel, over a possible clash with another one of his fighters, Dave Allen.

A fight with Wilder is a possibility next time out

But Hearn claims Team Wilder has also expressed interest in a bout with Joshua over the coming months.

Wilder is due to box twice more before the turn of the year and could close 2025 in style against Joshua after another tune-up.

Knockout specialist Deontay Wilder recently got back to winning ways and is now being mentioned with all sorts of different opponents.

The once long-reigning WBC champion Wilder had not fought for a year when he stepped into the ring this last weekend against American Tyrell Herndon. Before that, he had lost four of five, including twi knockout defeats to Tyson Fury, one to Zhilei Zhang and a points loss to Joseph Parker.

Wilder did what he was supposed to do against Herndon and got the stoppage in the mid to late rounds, however many in the sport were not impressed by the showing. Regardless, he is now looking to push on once more as he fights towards world honours.

Deontay Wilder Offered Fight With Fellow Heavyweight KO Artist: “Two Bangers”

JUST IN: “If I Come Back: Tyson Fury Give Conditions for Come Back

Speaking to Seconds Out, Frank Warren was asked about who he would like top put in against Wilder, and he went with the former Commonwealth and British champion Fabio Wardley.

“Well, if you put him in with one fighter from our stable, it would be someone I want to beat him. I’ll tell you what would be a really exciting fight, him and Fabio. Two bangers.”

Wardley is on the rise right now. The Brit stopped Justis Huni in the 10th round in his last fight after falling well behind on the cards, and before that, stopped Frazer Clarke in brutal fashion in their rematch after going toe-to-toe for 12 rounds in a hugely entertaining draw in their initial bout.

He has also beaten the likes of David Adeleye and Nathan Gorman and has 18 KO wins from 19 fights in all, so he would likely make for a great fight with Wilder. Should the American be looking for a fast-track to the top of the rankings, Wardley holds the WBA Interim title.

The Bronze Bomber is truly back.

Despite looking a bit rusty, Deontay Wilder made a successful comeback against Tyrrell Herndon, dropping him in the 7th round, and looking a bit different. Gone was the bold, fiery, and relentless young fighter. Instead, the audience at Charles Koch Arena witnessed a composed, patient American boxer who wants to stay inside the squared circle for a few more years.

After the disastrous last 3 years, it was a statement victory, leaving his future wide open. Even before the June 27th clash, Wilder had expressed his desire to have 3 matches in the year. Meanwhile, rumors of a potential showdown with Anthony Joshua began to surface, with Eddie Hearn adding fuel by confirming interest in the matchup. However, amidst the chaos, Deontay Wilder stayed silent, focusing on the task at hand. Finally, with past frustrations behind him, the American boxer now eyes the future, advancing talks for a fight with Joshua.

On Sunday, boxing analyst Dan Rafael took to his ‘X’ to reveal an exclusive conversation he had with Wilder’s camp. “Spoke to Deontay Wilder manager Shelly Finkel. With Wilder winning return Fri night, they now have offer to fight this fall in South Korea,” he wrote. South Korea, for a heavyweight fight, is indeed an unlikely venue. However, as Wilder previously stated, for him, 2025 is a stepping stone; it seems plausible.

Rafael continued, “If the money is real the plan is to take that fight.” It would be Deontay Wilder’s second warm-up fight of the year, readying him for the blockbuster 2026 he is eyeing. “Then look for a big fight, preferably Joshua, for the next one in 2026. #boxing,” Rafael concluded.

Well, given everything we saw, it is the right choice. Both Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua are coming out of a bad phase. And despite the Bronze Bomber securing the victory, he was far from his best. Something that even he acknowledged in the post-match interview, where he kept the buzz for a potential AJ clash alive.

Deontay Wilder eyeing an explosive 2026

Following the fight, The Ring caught the former WBC heavyweight champion inside the ring for an interview. “It felt really good and it was a blessing to get back in there and get the rust off,” Wilder said with a bright smile. The last American heavyweight champion stated that he achieved everything that he wanted to in against Herndon. Still, he felt his performance could have been better.

The 39-year-old updated on his shoulder injury, revealing complete healing for the first time in four years. However, despite its healing, he wants to take things slow. “We’re going with the plan that we have. I definitely need a couple of more tune-ups. There is a lot more work to be done, so I can really feel satisfied and feel that I have truly returned,” he stated.

Wilder confirmed that 2025 will be tune-up fights and nothing else. However, for 2026, he is targeting a blockbuster clash against Anthony Joshua. “It could be against Joshua. If the fight was set up, we’ll be ready to go down those roads. A lot of money is on the line, but sometimes it’s not about the money because we have to make sure things are right. We’re in the hurt business,” he declared.

The 39-year-old explained that he and Joshua are both working through recent performance dips, and recovery will take time. “When we’re ready, everyone will know,” he said. So, right now, it is just a waiting game. For Wilder, for Joshua, and for the fans and everyone needs to be patient.

Deontay Wilder made his long-awaited return to the sport on Friday night.

The 39-year-old from Tuscaloosa, Alabama stopped countryman Tyrrell Herndon in the seventh round of their non-title heavyweight showdown at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita.

It was Wilder’s first ring appearance since he suffered a devastating fifth round knockout defeat to Zhilei ‘Big Bang’ Zhang in Saudi Arabia last June, making it four losses in his last five outings.

The former WBC heavyweight champion has received criticism following his performance against Herndon, with fans and analysts expressing their disappointment towards the 39-year-old despite him walking away with a stoppage victory.

Speaking in the post-fight press conference, Wilder outlined his future plans after his comeback win, as he admits he will ‘take his time’ but is ‘getting calls to have this big fight’.

“We got a plan that we had set for this whole year and we gonna stick with it.

We’re getting a lot of calls to to do this, to have this big fight, when you’re in the heavyweight division you’re always one fight away from a title fight and we just wanna push it we wanna take our time just like I did tonight.

I took my time and we’re gonna do it with the return as well, just taking our time, continue doing what we need to do until we feel like we’re ready to take it back over again.”

Next up for Wilder could be a showdown with two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, who also finds himself at a crossroads in his career after suffering a big setback against IBF champion Daniel Dubois last September.
