One of the most recognised members of the Saudi-backed breakaway league, two-time U.S. Open winner DeChambeau heads the Crushers GC team with LIV. And while he has enjoyed individual success under the banner, he wants fans to invest more in the team aspect of LIV instead of solely focusing on individuals.

Speaking about his hopes for the future last month, the 31-year-old who has three LIV titles to his name said: “The game of golf is ready for change. We continue to hope to see golf move in this team direction.

“Obviously the game will always be an individual sport. We’ll always play for individual titles. But why not have a team aspect as well to it?

“Why can’t we have more fun together? Why can’t we build something special? Why can’t we influence and inspire the next generation of golfers as a team?

“We want people to have that fandom like you have with the Lakers, like you have with the Yankees and stuff. It’s going to take time. We all know that.

“And the people that are looking at us going, ‘What is this, why is it even a thing?’ Well, the Yankees had to start somewhere, the Lakers had to start somewhere, and we’re just at the inception. This is only three years in now.”

As it stands, LIV golf has both singles and teams leaderboards for each event. However, the team leaderboard is just an accumulation of individual performances at the end of an event – with the lowest scoring player and lowest scoring combined team winning.

That’s barring the LIV Golf Team Championship, of course, which is held as a four-round match play knockout tournament in which teams face off. And McIlroy believes that a change to the format to incorporate teams actually going head-to-head consistently rather than once a year could change the game in terms of how people view LIV Golf.

Speaking about the current set-up, the 36-year-old said: “Look, I always felt like LIV’s best chance was to try to replicate their team championship for the teams to go head-to-head together instead of they all just go out and play and they add their scores up at the end of the day.

“I don’t think that gets people going. But I think when the teams go head-to-head like they do in their team championship in wherever, Dallas or whenever it was last year, I think that has a possibility of working. Instead of that maybe being once a year and then these stroke play events, could you reduce the stroke play events and do more of that a few times a year.

“I think that is a way — because especially if these guys are going to come back and play, I don’t want to say real, they play real golf but more like championship individual golf, then is there more of an opportunity for these teams to go more head-to-head because I think that makes for a more compelling product, at least in my eyes. I’m just one person.”

It comes as McIlroy and DeChambeau will meet once more on the course this year at the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush later this month. No strangers to the trials and tribulations of a major championship, the PGA Tour pro and the LIV Golf star were pitted off with one another for the final round of the Masters back in April.

During that round at Augusta National, McIlroy refused to speak to his opponent until he had putted his final ball on the famed 18th hole. McIlroy ultimately went on to win his first Masters title and clinch the Career Grand Slam during that tournament, following a tense play-off with Justin Rose.

Tiger Woods is currently off the competitive golf scene following his March Achilles surgery, his 14th major operation.

Despite this hiatus, fans continue to spot him on the course, often as a supportive dad.

Recently, Woods was seen at the Nicklaus Junior Championship in Tequesta, Florida, cheering on his 16-year-old son Charlie, who finished sixth in a field of 122.

Woods has remained present throughout his son’s rise, including celebrating his first American Junior Golf Association win in May.

However, an astonishing fact about Woods’ own golf game came up this week. On the latest episode of Golf.com’s “Subpar” podcast, that star’s former caddie Steve Williams divulged a wild long‑held secret.

Williams routinely gave Tiger incorrect yardages to exploit his adrenaline‑charged state.

“The one thing I always noticed for Tiger when he was running a little warm is the adrenaline that he would get going,” Williams explained. “I could tell that when the adrenaline was going, he would walk quicker, he would talk quicker. Everything became a bit quicker.”

“The biggest thing I did was adjust the yardages all the time. I mean I was constantly doing that. You know, if it was 160 yards and it’s a 9-iron, I’d be telling him it’s 170 or something,” Williams continued.

“I’d be adjusting the yardages so often because he just got the adrenaline going and ball started going further and further.”

Even on par‑threes, Williams recalled telling Tiger a six‑iron distance as a seven‑iron to keep him in check. The longtime caddie admitted this took courage.

“I had to be extremely aware of that, and I got a very good handle on that, to the point where I can recall one round at Bay Hill in the final round of one of his victories there,” Williams remarked.

“I didn’t give him the right yardage – the correct yardage – on any shot for the entire round… I did that so often when he got running hot and got the adrenaline going,” Williams added.

“Yeah. It took him a while to (figure it out). I can’t remember or pinpoint exactly when he asked me something about it. He said, ‘Just keep doing it. You know what you are doing.’”

There could be trouble on the horizon for Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll.

The 36-year-old golfing icon threw a curveball when, just a day after his victory at the Wells Fargo Championship, he filed for divorce from his wife Erica, 37, with whom he shares a four-year-old daughter, Poppy Kennedy McIlroy.

However, the breakup would be short-lived, as just a few weeks later, Rory and Erica, who met in 2012, made a U-turn on their plans to divorce. The reason for their split was never publicly confirmed, but it was reported that the pair faced struggles in the relationship due to a combination of factors.

Erica reportedly felt lonely in their marriage and wanted a more traditional family life, which didn’t exactly bode well with Rory’s demanding and busy golf career.

At the time, one source told US Weekly that Erica felt isolated while her husband was away for tournaments and that they were living “very different lives”.

Regardless of the reasoning behind the divorce filing, the pair seemingly got things back on track. As recently as the 2025 Masters week in April, Erica was there supporting her husband, even going as far as to serve as his caddie.

But could there be trouble on the horizon? Astrology expert Inbaal Honigman seems to think so, if one factor props up that is.

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, she stressed, “Rory and Erica’s star signs have a lot in common, which can be a blessing or a curse, because a relationship of two similar people can enhance their worst qualities as well as their best.

“Both Taurus, which is Rory’s sign, and Virgo, which is Erica’s sign, are Earth signs. Earth signs in astrology are practical, reliable and grounded,” Inbaal explained, adding, “They’re both dependable and responsible.”

“Taurus is a little more indoorsy than sociable Virgo,” the astrologer pointed out, noting, “Virgo is a little more humorous than quiet Taurus, but they’re very similar.

“On the one hand, it makes them compatible, as both will be great at running a household and being respectful of one another.”

However, this very factor could be their downfall. Inbaal warned: “On the other hand, Earth signs aren’t very romantic, so neither are great at expressing their emotions, which can be a difficulty in long-term relationships.”

Relationship expert Jacob Lucas also weighed in, and he had quite the opposite opinion.

“When people get divorced, and they’re fully separated, they’ve had time to reflect upon what happened. They are probably less angry; they’ve had time to think about things.

“They’ll be able to recognise their behaviours, aka, ‘I overreacted there.’ Things may have gotten out of hand, and it is good to have the time apart to recognise why you were together in the first place,” he added, seemingly hinting things may be between and stable for the couple this time round.

Vanessa Trump has opened up on the “emotional rollercoaster” she went through with her eldest daughter, Kai Trump, last summer when choosing which university she would be attending in 2026.

The U.S. President’s former daughter-in-law may have hit the headlines earlier this year when her relationship with Tiger Woods was officially announced, yet her recent admission on another memorable moment within the last 12 months has now also caught the attention.

Kai recently gave fans a glimpse into what her mom is really like behind the scenes in a TikTok video of the two sharing dinner together. Thankfully for the 47-year-old, Woods’ children are already fond of her, with their warmth towards their dad’s new girlfriend a mutual feeling – as U.S. President Donald Trump gave the romance his seal of approval.

Trump, however, has recently turned heads by revealing what it was like to help her daughter choose her university for next year. Last summer, the mother-daughter duo visited a number of colleges, before Kai ultimately chose to play golf at the University of Miami.

And while she is incredibly proud of the 18-year-old and will offer her full support, Woods’ new flame couldn’t help but admit that it certainly took a toll on her emotions in a recent video uploaded to Kai’s popular YouTube channel.

When asked by one fan to share one of their favorite moments together, Trump said: “We visited quite a few colleges this past summer, which was an emotional roller coaster, a little bit.

“Because obviously when your kid goes away you want them to pick the school that they want to go to, but inside I also want her to go not too far.”

Trump then added that, despite feeling anxious about her daughter leaving home, she remained quiet about the situation in order to allow the aspiring golfer to choose her own path. After Kai chose Miami, Trump admitted that she felt “lucky”.

Her daughter recently caught the eye at the 41st edition of the Nicklaus Junior Championship where she performed alongside Woods’ son, Charlie, although it was the latter who ended up by far the happier at the end of the two-round tournament.

The teenagers, bearing the weight of such huge names on their back, have emerged as two of the nation’s most promising golfers within their respective age categories, and put their skills to the test once more by teeing off in Florida at the end of last month.

After finishing even-par for the tournament with a final round 69 (2-under), Charlie placed sixth in a field of 122 boys golfers, finishing just four shots back of eventual winner Jeremy Hsu of Port St. Lucie, who won the tournament at 4-under.

Kai, meanwhile, finished tied for 21st out of 32 golfers, having struggled to a final round score of a 3-over 74, putting her 17-over for the tournament. That’s despite playing the front nine at 1-under – the best of any girls player in the final round.

Both teenagers currently attend the Benjamin School, a private school in Palm Beach, Florida, where Kai is varsity captain of the golf team. Like her, Charlie is also aspiring to become a pro on the greens, and recently secured his place in the U.S Junior Amateur Championship in July.

Golf legend Tiger Woods and former model Vanessa Trump are reportedly heading towards marriage, according to a new report that has stirred speculation across celebrity and sports circles.

The couple, who went public with their relationship in March 2025, are said to be “very serious,” with insiders suggesting that wedding plans may be on the horizon.

“She’s finally found happiness”

A source close to Vanessa told Page Six that “They’re very serious. Wedding bells serious.”
“She’s so happy! She’s finally found happiness. She’s found happiness for the first time in her life.”

The couple’s romance, which began quietly around Thanksgiving 2024, was confirmed when Woods posted a photo of them together on social media with the caption, “Love is in the air, and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”

Living together and sharing family life

According to Radar Online, Vanessa has reportedly moved into Woods’ 40 million dollar estate in Jupiter Island, Florida. She has full access to the property, including security codes, and is said to be living there “essentially full-time.” “She had drawers and cubbyholes for all her personal items. She cooked meals there. So it was a no-brainer as far as Tiger’s concerned,” an insider shared.
Their children—Vanessa’s five from her previous marriage to Donald Trump Jr. and Woods’ two with ex-wife Elin Nordegren—attend the same elite school in Palm Beach, further intertwining their family lives.

“Tiger is all in”

Despite concerns from friends about Woods’ 1.3 billion dollar fortune and the absence of a prenuptial agreement, the golfer appears fully committed.

“Tiger is all in and saying this is a go,” the insider told Radar Online. Adding, “He seems certain this has marriage potential. He’s madly in love with Vanessa. Anyone can see it in his eyes.”

Presidential blessing

Even Donald Trump, Vanessa’s former father-in-law, has weighed in. In a March Oval Office meeting, he reportedly said, “I love Tiger and I love Vanessa. He and I have a very special, very good relationship.” Further adding, “He told me about it, and I said, ‘Tiger, that’s good, that’s good.’ I’m very happy for both. Just let them both be happy. They’re both great.”

A new chapter for both

If the couple does tie the knot, it would be the second marriage for both. Woods was previously married to Elin Nordegren from 2004 to 2010, while Vanessa divorced Donald Trump Jr. in 2018. Their relationship has reportedly received support from both families, with Vanessa’s daughter Kai Trump and Woods’ son Charlie Woods bonding over their shared passion for golf.

Rory McIlroy is looking forward to a two-week break from the golf course to properly take in his monumental Masters win earlier in the year, and he’ll be spending time with his wife Erica Stoll.

Back in April, the prestigious golfer secured his career Grand Slam at Augusta National, beating Justin Rose in a tense sudden-death playoff. Since his Masters celebration, the 36-year-old hasn’t quite carried the momentum into later events as many envisioned.

He ended up tied for 47th at the PGA Championship and shared 19th place at the US Open. Yet, McIlroy has gotten three top-ten finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including his latest performance at the Travelers Championship, where he finished tied for sixth, just two shots shy of Tommy Fleetwood, who in turn lost out to Team USA Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley in a final-hole showdown.

The golf star will be off the grid until the Scottish Open kicks off on July 10, which comes right before The Open Championship set to take place at the esteemed Royal Portrush a week following.

Before jetting back to the UK, McIlroy shared, “I think more so than anything else, it’ll just be good for me mentally to take a little bit of a break and get back to my neck of the woods, get back to the UK for a little bit.”

He added, “I’m excited for that, and I’ve alluded to the fact I probably haven’t taken enough time off or time to reflect after what happened in April, so I’m excited to do a little bit of that over these next two weeks.”

After the US Open, the five-time major titan shared his thoughts, “It’s always nice to get home; I feel like I live two different lives. I’m a dad and a husband when I’m away from here, and then I’m who I am when I’m here.”

He confessed his love for the moments of ordinary life he experiences, saying, “It’s always nice to get away and feel a bit of normality.” He also expressed, “I’m looking forward to just getting back to Europe in general.”

Rory McIlroy, along with his wife Erica Stroll and their four year old daughter Poppy, are creating their perfect home on Wentworth Estate, nearby the upscale Surrey golf club. Looking ahead with excitement, McIlroy added, “We’ve got a lot to look forward to, got our new house in London, play the Scottish and then obviously The Open at Portrush.”

McIlroy and his family are set for a big change as they plan their move to their updated mansion in Wentworth, leaving behind Jupiter, Florida.

Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump are still going strong, but friends are reportedly noticing a change in the pro golfer.

The 49-year-old athlete and the former daughter-in-law of Donald Trump are “over the moon” in love with each other, according to an InTouch Weekly source, but that’s not the news that’s turning heads in Woods’ circles. It seems that he is happy to spend his hard-earned money on his girlfriend, something that he didn’t necessarily do in past relationships.

“Tiger is fully enmeshed in Vanessa’s world. He was just at the White House with her and was welcomed with open arms by everyone,” the insider added. “She has a very high-flying circle of friends, and he’s in with them too and planning to rent a massive super yacht this summer to cruise around the Mediterranean with Vanessa and a bunch of her friends.”

That sounds like a grand plan for the unexpected couple, but the golf legend can certainly afford it. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Woods is worth $800 million, thanks to his professional golf career and his 27-year endorsement with Nike, which ended in 2024. Even with his significant earnings, he wasn’t known for freely spending his money.

The InTouch Weekly source alleged that Woods “wants to impress” his girlfriend, so “he’s certainly enjoying himself” by spoiling her. The unlikely duo began dating in November 2024 “just before Thanksgiving,” per the Daily Mail. Woods and Trump’s children both attend the same elite private school in Palm Beach, Florida, so they often crossed paths. Plus, Trump’s eldest daughter Kai, 18, whom she shares with ex Donald Trump Jr., is a talented golfer who is committed to attending the University of Miami in 2025.

The relationship was confirmed by People in mid-March, and Woods and Trump made it Instagram official on March 23.

“Love is in the air, and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together,” Woods wrote. “At this time, we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”

That message made it clear that he’s all-in when it comes to his relationship with Trump, but he would appreciate it if fans backed out of his love life.

McIlroy has had an impressive season, breaking his 11-year dry spell for a major victory by clinching the Masters in April.

His triumph in Augusta made him just the sixth golfer in history to complete the Grand Slam, but subsequent events like the PGA Championship and the US Open revealed signs of frustration.

The Northern Irish golf star has largely steered clear of media interviews since his Masters win and has acknowledged the need for a ‘mental break’. McIlroy’s wife has expressed her desire to spend more time in the UK and less time in Florida, a wish that has been granted as he passed up the opportunity to compete for a top prize of $1.7 million in Detroit.

Since his Masters victory, McIlroy’s performance has been somewhat erratic, despite earlier wins at Pebble Beach and TPC Sawgrass. He tied for seventh place at the Truist Championship, struggled at the PGA Championship, and didn’t make the cut at the RBC Canadian Open.

A challenging week at Oakmont resulted in McIlroy tying for 19th place at the US Open after barely making the cut, and he tied for sixth at the recent Travelers Championship. After his final round on Sunday, McIlroy confirmed that he would be temporarily leaving the United States with his family.

“I think more so than anything else it’ll just be good for me mentally to take a little bit of a break and get back to my neck of the woods, get back to the UK for a little bit,” McIlroy remarked.

“So I’m excited to do a little bit of that over these next two weeks.”

McIlroy hails from Northern Ireland, while his wife Erica is an upstate New York native. Despite this, Erica has voiced her discomfort with Florida’s heat and is keen on spending more time in the UK.

The couple is in the process of setting up a new home in Surrey, England, making them soon-to-be UK residents. Erica’s preference for cooler climates came to light during the Netflix docuseries Full Swing, where German golfer Martin Kaymer shared details of a conversation he had with her.

“I saw her [Erica] at a Starbucks once, and she said, ‘I really don’t like the sun.’ I said, ‘Your state’s called the Sunshine State [Florida], right?'”Kaymer said.

McIlroy responded: “If it was up to her, she wouldn’t move to England straightaway. But she definitely wants to spend more time there.”

With plans to split their time between Surrey and Florida, McIlroy is eager for a respite in the UK. The golfer has also been open about his recent media frustrations and appeared visibly discontent on the golf course.

“I feel like I live two different lives,” McIlroy expressed. ‘I’m a dad and a husband when I’m away from here, and then I’m who I am when I’m here.

It’s always nice to get away and feel a bit of normality. “.

McIlroy’s upcoming schedule includes two UK tournaments, kicking off with the Genesis Scottish Open on July 10. Following that, he’ll compete in The Open Championship, this year’s last major, starting on July 17.

Tiger Woods has been in the news as of late, following one of his first public appearances since undergoing surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon earlier in the year.

While Woods’ future in golf is certainly in question, it appears that things in his personal life are going well alongside his girlfriend Vanessa Trump, President Donald Trump’s former daughter-in-law.

According to a report from Reality Tea, there is an expectation that Woods and Trump could be tying the knot in the near future, and that they are head-over-heels in love with each other. Reality Tea also reports that Woods has been calling this “the best relationship he’s ever had.”

Tiger Woods Goes Instagram Official with Vanessa Trump with Snuggled-Up Photo

Woods and Trump made their relationship public back in March and have been going strong since.

“The source revealed that the PGA Tour champion’s friends strongly believe that an engagement is imminent,” Reality Tea’s Varsha Narayanan wrote. “The insider further said, “He’s over the moon about her and saying he plans to marry her so people in his world are expecting it to happen fairly soon.”

Reports of Woods being happy in his personal life are certainly good to hear, seeing as his golf future has taken a turn as of late. While ramping up physically for the major championship season this year, Woods announced that he ruptured his Achilles, and would require surgery to repair it, likely sidelining him until 2026.

This past week, we saw Woods out and about as he walked a course alongside his son, Charlie, for an amateur tournament. While the focus was supposed to be on Charlie, it was hard to ignore Tiger’s physical appearance.

The 49-year-old looks like a shell of his former self. While he still has some muscle mass in his upper-body, his legs look lean and lacking of bulk.

Of course, this is understandable considering what he has gone through as far as leg injuries over the past several years. In 2021, Woods suffered fractures to his right tibia and fibula, plus significant ankle trauma after a serious auto accident. He has also ruptured his ACL, had stress fractures in his knee, torn his Achilles and had MCL sprains.

But if he is happy off the course and in his personal life, all of that other stuff comes secondary. Here’s to hoping this happiness alongside Vanessa can continue.
