The new line will include 10,000 unique mix-and-match activewear looks in four collections, Matte, Shine, Airy, and Vintage Seamless. The gym-ready designs were created with varying levels of support and flow using Nike’s Dri-FIT technology and SKIMS’ sculpting ability.

On Monday afternoon, Williams, 43, shared a marketing plug on Instagram showing off Kardashian’s new line, which includes trendy leggings, form-fitting sports bras, and bike shorts.

She captioned the post, “I feel unstoppable when I’m training in NikeSKIMS. NikeSKIMS arrives September 26th.”

The 23-time Grand Slam winner included a carousel of photos in the post, showing off herself modeling the new designs.

In one IG snap, the tennis star’s sporting a brown crop top and matching leggings with the Nike swoosh and “SKIMS” monogrammed on the back. In another photo, she’s sitting on the floor wearing a one-piece form-fitting piece of activewear.

Williams is also featured on the NikeSKIMS website where she raves about the brand, saying the fabric on the clothing, “feels like butter on your skin.”

Kardashian and NikeSkims has recruited several other female pro athletes to star in the campaign, including Jordan Chiles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Madisen Skinner, Chloe Kim, Nelly Korda, and Romane Dicko.

It’s not surprising that Kardashian is entering the sportswear market, as she’s frequently spotted working on her own fitness journey.

In an interview with “Vogue” over the weekend, she admitted that, “I love to workout. It’s my therapy.”

“To me it just made sense,” she said. “Skims is very body-oriented—we do swimwear, loungewear, shapewear—so our next evolution was that we really wanted to do activewear. Our dream was to work with Nike: Their legacy, innovation, and athlete insights—it was the perfect thing to mix with Skims, and our dedication to the female form.”

Kardashian describes her new line as “versatile” and says it was important to offer pieces that can fit into a woman’s busy lifestyle.

“You can wear some of the pieces out at night and look really great, or there’s super casual pieces strictly for working out,” she said. “I wanted people to feel like there was something for everyone.”

The NikeSKIMS line will be available in sizes XXS to 4X, with prices ranging from $38 to $148.

Iga Swiatek’s ‘shocked’ admission as she’s asked about Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova reunion

Iga Swiatek admits she was both “shocked” and “happy” to see Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova together, following a reunion that left the tennis world stunned.

Many were left in disbelief when Williams made a surprise appearance at Sharapova’s Hall of Fame induction last weekend, with the American introducing the Russian ahead of her acceptance speech.

Arguably the two biggest WTA stars of their generation, and maybe the biggest stars in women’s tennis history, Williams and Sharapova were known to have a tense and frosty relationship.

Despite Williams dominating their head-to-head, winning 20 of their 22 clashes, the pair’s matches always attracted huge attention and hype, meeting in four Grand Slam finals.

Signs of the two’s improving relationship have emerged in recent years, with the pair pictured together at the Met Gala previously.

However, few would have predicted Williams to describe Sharapova, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame five years on from her retirement, as her “forever friend” on such a big stage.

And, it wasn’t just tennis fans who were surprised, with six-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek also left in shock by the two’s reconciliation.

Speaking after her comfortable opening-round win at the US Open, the world No 2 opened up on why it was so “great” to see the two form a strong bond.

“Honestly, it’s great,” said Swiatek.

“It’s a shame, obviously, that it didn’t happen before when they were on tour together.

“I just thought that their relationship was so tense that I’m just shocked that they managed to work through it.

“I guess if you have good intentions, you can work through everything, you know. So for sure I’m happy to see that.

“I think having that appreciation from your biggest rival, it must be a great feeling. So Maria also deserves that, and Serena, she’s great. So they’re both great.

“I was just happy to see them together, because I feel like we all should be kind of united and going towards one goal as players, even though we’re competing against each other, and that’s one of the examples of that.”

Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, will be eligible for induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2024, five years on from her 2022 retirement.

Considered by many to be the greatest female player of all time, the 43-year-old is a shoo-in to be inducted, though Swiatek herself is all but guaranteed the honour once her playing career is over.

Aged 24, the Pole will likely still have many more years left on tour, though she is already a six-time Grand Slam champion with 125 weeks as the world No 1.

Swiatek is searching for her seventh Grand Slam title, and second straight major, at the US Open this fortnight, and is many people’s favourite to win what would be her second title in New York.

Champion at this tournament back in 2022, second seed Swiatek will face Suzan Lamens in second-round action on Thursday.

Serena Williams Shows Off Her Hourglass Silhouette in Slinky Red Slip Dress After 31-Lb Weight Loss

Williams, 43, gave fans a look at her silhouette while wearing a floor-length dress on Wednesday, September 16. The tennis pro took to Instagram to share her look, which featured a sleeveless cherry red silk dress that hugged all her curves featuring a scoop neckline.

While posing in a library, Williams accessorized with silver pointed-toe kitten heels and a diamond tennis bracelet, as well as a coordinating necklace.

For glam, she donned smokey eyeshadow, bronzed cheeks, long lashes and lined, glossy lips. Williams’ highlighted mane was parted to the side and styled in neat curls.

Williams reflected on the past few months in her caption, writing alongside the pics, “My summer started out well but I was plunged into a difficult August. Like many of you, I faced challenges that tested my spirit and resilience.” She added a message about self-love, continuing, “I took some time away to breathe, to reconnect with myself, and to remember that it’s perfectly okay to pause and reconnect. Even if it’s just a quiet night to yourself. Anything counts.”

The Olympian cheekily added, “The only thing I’m dealing with in this moment here is how good this dress looks against first editions.”

Williams’ slinky look comes after she got candid about using a GLP-1 medication to lose weight.

“After having my second kid, I was never able to be at a healthy weight that I could be at, whether it was my joints or blood sugar levels,” she explained to Today last month. “It was just always something I suffered with, and a lot of women actually go through this.” (Williams shares daughters Alexis Olympia, 7, and Adira River, 13 months, with husband Alexis Ohanian.)

he noted that getting on the medication wasn’t “a shortcut” in her transformation.

“As an athlete and as someone that has done everything, I just couldn’t get my weight to where I needed to be at a healthy place,” the tennis sensation shared.“And, believe me, I don’t take shortcuts.”

After sitting down for several interviews to discuss her use of GLP-1 weight loss medication, Serena Williams is opening up about why she opted to try the drugs in the first place.

The four-time Olympic gold medalist joined the hosts of Today for a candid interview on Thursday, August 21, during which she explained that several of her family members had diabetes, thus leading her to consider taking a GLP-1.

“As an athlete and as someone that has done everything, I just couldn’t get my weight to where I needed to be at a healthy place, and believe me I don’t take shortcuts,” Williams said. “I do everything but shortcuts.”

The mom-of-two has dropped 31 pounds since starting the medication. She also cited knee pain as a motivation to lose weight. “I had a lot of issues with my knees, especially after I had my kid,” Williams said. “That, quite frankly, definitely had an effect on maybe some wins that I could have had in my career.”

Though Williams did not disclose which medication she was prescribed, the tennis champion is currently a paid spokesperson for the telehealth company Ro, whose GLP-1 offerings include Zepbound, Ozempic, and Wegovy.

“I was on and off (the medication) and now completely on,” she told Today. “It was a really good decision I had to make for my life, you know, I tried everything.”

Williams welcomed her first daughter Olympia in 2017 followed by her second, Adira, who was born in 2023. She shares her children with her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

“This all started after I had my (first) kid,” she recounted on Today. “As a woman, you go through different cycles in your life….No matter what I did—running, walking, I would walk for hours because they say that’s good, I literally was playing a professional sport—and I could never go back to where I needed to be for my health.”

She went on, “Then, after my second kid, it just even got harder. So then I was like, ‘Okay, I have to try something different.’ That’s kind of what led to this whole journey….Do I want to choose health? What do I want to do?”

How Serena Williams breaks the myth about her true personality off the court

When it comes to intensity and passion in tennis, few names shine as brightly as Serena Williams. Her competitive spirit and powerful strokes made her one of the most dominant players in history, defining an era in the sport. However, that same ferocity on the court also fueled a long-standing misconception about who Serena really is off it.

In the inaugural episode of Stockton Street, published on X, the American champion decided to clarify the biggest misunderstanding about her personality. During the conversation, Williams explained that many people labeled her as serious, aggressive, and distant in her private life, simply because she displayed unmatched intensity during her matches.

“For me, the biggest mistake is that people think I’m the same off the court as I am on it. I’ve always been intense, fierce, and passionate in tennis, but in reality I’m loving, I love to joke around and have fun with my family. I’m not as serious as many people think,”she confessed.

A cheerful and approachable Serena Williams

Far from the rigid image some still hold, a quick look at her social media reveals an authentic and joyful Serena. The former world number one often shares moments full of laughter with her daughters, friends, and family, showing that her essence goes far beyond the intensity she displayed with a racket in hand.

This isn’t the first myth the former tennis star has sought to debunk. Over the years, several misunderstandings have circulated about her and her inner circle, including her own father, Richard Williams.

King Richard and the vindication of Richard Williams

In 2021, the film King Richard, starring Will Smith, showed the world a different side of Richard Williams. Beyond the prejudices that painted him as a villain, the movie revealed his true role as a protector and driving force in the lives of Serena and Venus, highlighting the enormous family effort that propelled the sisters to the top of world tennis.

“It was essential to tell the truth: my father wasn’t the character many imagined. He was a constant support, along with my mother, and together they guided us in a sport that wasn’t always easy for us,” Serena recalled in a past interview.

The combination of her athletic career and the authenticity of her personal life solidify Serena Williams not only as a tennis icon, but also as an inspiring voice unafraid to break myths and show her true self. Today, with Stockton Street, she opens a new chapter to share untold stories and connect more closely with her followers

Serena Williams Shares Mysterious Post About ‘Difficult August’ and Focusing on Her Mental Health

Tennis legend Serena Williams is opening up about focusing on what’s most important after a “difficult August.”

The former professional tennis player and Olympic gold medalist, 43, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a quartet of photos featuring her dressed in a long, red silk dress and silver pointy-toed heels. With her long, blonde hair in curly tendrils, Williams stood in front of a massive bookshelf and opened up about “learning to let go.” The post comes less than a month after her announcement that she lost 31 pounds using a GLP-1 medication.

“Dearest gentle reader, My summer started out well but I was plunged into a difficult August. Like many of you, I faced challenges that tested my spirit and resilience. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming and it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters—your mental health and well-being. I took some time away to breathe, to reconnect with myself, and to remember that it’s perfectly okay to pause and reconnect. Even if it’s just a quiet night to yourself. Anything counts,” Williams wrote in the caption.

The athlete, who has two daughters, Alexis Olympia, 8, and Adira, 2, with husband Alexis Ohanian, continued by saying that she’s “learned that the end of a matter is better than its beginning. And even though things haven’t reached their end yet, I’m also learning to let go and live life one moment at a time. The only thing I’m dealing with in this moment here is how good this dress looks against first editions.”

Williams ended the post by asking her followers how their summer was, and adding the hashtag “Lady Serena of Stockton Street.”

Williams Has Spoken About the Challenges of Motherhood

In the past, Williams has opened up about her public image as a sports icon and how she doesn’t believe that’s a true representation of one’s worth. Instead, she has shared how she feels the real sign of being a star is being someone your children can count on.

“I feel like everybody’s a champion,” Williams told PEOPLE last year. “You don’t have to be winning Wimbledon or a gold medal to be a champion. Being a champion is really just being there for your kids. I think that’s a huge champion.”

But with a lot on her plate as an athlete, founder, spokesperson, and mother, Williams can get overwhelmed.

“Being a champion is understanding that you’re not going to be a champion every single day. There’s no way you can win every single day. I need to take this advice to myself,” she shared. “But it’s really just about giving your best effort in whatever you’re doing, just do the best that you can on that day. Some days, you will be able to make a better effort. Some days, just waking up is a big effort. You just have to give what you can on that day.”

Serena Williams and her former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, made some magic on the tennis court together, but their relationship was not always a walk in the park.

In an interview with The Guardian, Mouratoglou, 55, recalled a fight he had with Williams, 43, after she gave birth to her first daughter, Olympia, in September 2017.

“It was after the pregnancy – not right after; I know these things take time,” Mouratoglou said in the story, published on Thursday, September 11. “I told her, ‘Listen, this is not a comment on how you look. It’s not my problem. But tennis is a sport in which you can’t afford to be overweight.’”

He added, “In Serena’s case, she was older – so of course the body is not going to bounce back the same as before, and the risk of injury is even bigger. We had a few fights about it. I remember she did not like when I said that because she thought I was judging her.”

Mouratoglou coached Williams from 2012 to 2022, a stretch in which the tennis star won 10 of her 23 Grand Slam singles titles.

“I kept telling her, ‘I don’t care about your look. It’s not my job. My job is your tennis,’” Mouratoglou recalled saying to Williams. ‘“If you want to come back to the top and make history, then we have to be very efficient on every level – including this one.’ Which for me was the key element.”

Mouratoglou explained how even the slightest amount of weight gain can be detrimental to a tennis player’s performance.

“It’s a sport in which you change directions all the time and with a lot of speed,” he said. “Even one [pound] overweight is a lot. When you go full speed in one direction with one [pound] extra and then need to stop and come back, the time that you lose is really important.”

Last month, Williams revealed she had lost 31 pounds after going on the GLP-1 medication Ro.

When Mouratoglou was asked if he wished Williams had “done this five, six years ago,” his answer was blunt.

“I’m not the type of guy who’s looking back and having regrets,” he said. “But, yeah, if she would have been in this position physically, the results would have been better.”

Williams retired from professional tennis in 2022. She and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, welcomed their second daughter, Adira, in August 2023.

In announcing her use of the weight-loss medication, Williams said she was “never” able to reach the weight she “needed” after giving birth to Olympia.

“It was crazy because I’d never been in a place like that in my life where I worked so hard, ate so healthy and could never get down to where I needed to be at,” she told People. “I had never taken shortcuts in my career and always worked really hard. I know what it takes to be the best.”

Serena Williams has never been a stranger to scrutiny.

From her dominance on the court to the constant conversation around her body, the 23-time Grand Slam champion has spent her career under a microscope.

In a 2018 Teen Vogue interview, she talked about how much body shaming she had to put up with, recalling: “People would say I was born a guy, all because of my arms, or because I’m strong.” Years later, the subject has resurfaced, this time tied to her decision to publicly embrace medical help for weight loss.

Williams recently appeared in People magazine celebrating a 31-pound weight loss, but the feature carried a corporate twist. It also promoted Ro, a telehealth service that provides access to GLP-1 medications, where her husband Alexis Ohanian sits on the board.

For some observers, the story raised questions about whether her personal journey was being overshadowed by the business angle. For Williams, however, it was a chance to share an honest account of her struggles.

Mouratoglou recalls tense conversations

Her longtime coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, who helped guide her to many of her titles, admitted the topic of weight was often a flashpoint in their partnership.

“Oh I remember it very well,” he said when asked about those years. “It was after the pregnancy – not right after; I know these things take time. I told her: ‘Listen, this is not a comment on how you look. It’s not my problem.’ But tennis is a sport in which you can’t afford to be overweight.”

He explained his reasoning in purely athletic terms.

“The pressure on your joints and everything is so big that your chances [of injury] become much higher,” Mouratoglou said. “It’s a sport in which you change directions all the time and with a lot of speed. Even one kilo overweight is a lot. When you go full speed in one direction with one kilo extra and then need to stop and come back, the time that you lose is really important.

“Just look at the best players in the world – Alcaraz, Sinner, Djokovic. Think about their movement. The weight was affecting her movement.

“In Serena’s case, she was older – so of course the body is not going to bounce back the same as before, and the risk of injury is even bigger. We had a few fights about it. I remember she did not like when I said that because she thought I was judging her,” he revealed.

Still, he stood firm: “I kept telling her, I don’t care about your look. It’s not my job. My job is your tennis. If you want to come back to the top and make history, then we have to be very efficient on every level – including this one, which for me was the key element.”

Serena Williams’ mirror selfies ignite heated fan debate

Tennis legend’s latest Instagram photos divide followers over beauty standards and representation

Serena Williams thought she was just sharing some cute mirror selfies. Instead, she accidentally started a cultural firestorm.

The tennis icon’s recent Instagram post from Manhattan’s Fouquet’s New York hotel seemed innocent enough—a few snapshots of her rocking a sleek grey ensemble with vibrant red-orange heels. But within hours, her comment section became a battlefield over beauty standards, identity and what it means to represent Black excellence in America.

When Compliments Turn Into Criticism

Williams looked confident and radiant in her monochromatic outfit, complete with a flowing maxi skirt and crop top that showed off her athletic build. Her signature blonde ombre hair caught the hotel’s ambient lighting perfectly. Yet many fans weren’t celebrating—they were worried.

The concerns weren’t about the outfit or the setting. They were about Williams herself. Followers expressed sadness over what they saw as changes to her appearance, suggesting she was moving away from the powerful representation of Black beauty she’d embodied for decades. Some even accused her of setting a poor example for young Black girls.

It’s the kind of scrutiny that most celebrities never face, but Williams has been carrying this burden her entire career.

The Weight of Williams’ Transformation

Since welcoming daughter Adira River in August 2023, Williams has embraced a serious fitness routine. Her 17 million Instagram followers regularly see glimpses of her gym sessions and wellness journey. What should be celebrated as a new mom prioritizing her health has instead become fuel for debate.

Fans noticed changes to her famously powerful physique—particularly the curves and muscular build that made her an icon of strength. Some worried she was conforming to conventional beauty standards rather than staying true to the body that revolutionized tennis.

The speculation goes deeper than fitness. Persistent rumors about skin lightening have followed Williams for years, despite her repeated denials. During promotional appearances for her Wyn Beauty brand, she’s consistently attributed any perceived changes to lighting and makeup, emphasizing her pride in her natural complexion.

The Impossible Standard of Representation

Here’s what makes Williams‘ situation uniquely challenging: she’s not just a retired athlete posting selfies. She’s become an unwitting symbol of Black female empowerment, and every public appearance feels like a referendum on her authenticity.

When Williams changes her hair, her workout routine, or even her Instagram filter, millions of people interpret it as a statement about race, beauty and cultural values. It’s an exhausting responsibility that few public figures must navigate.

Williams has pushed back against this policing with characteristic directness. She’s used her platform to promote self-acceptance while refusing to let critics dictate her choices. Her public statements about embracing her Black identity serve as both personal affirmation and broader education about colorism.

Beyond the Selfie Controversy

This latest dust-up reveals something uncomfortable about how society treats successful Black women. Williams spent decades shattering barriers in tennis while facing criticism about everything from her clothing to her celebrations. Now, even in retirement, her personal choices spark heated cultural debates.

The intensity of fan reactions shows just how much weight Williams carries as a representative figure. Her mirror selfies weren’t just photos—they were perceived as shifts in the visual representation of Black excellence that millions have come to expect.

But Williams has never been one to shrink from controversy. Throughout her career, she’s turned criticism into opportunity, using each challenge to educate and inspire. Her willingness to address rumors head-on while maintaining her right to personal evolution offers a masterclass in authentic leadership.

The conversation sparked by these selfies ultimately serves a purpose: it forces everyone to examine their expectations of Black women in the spotlight and challenges the notion that public figures must remain frozen in time to satisfy others’ comfort.

Williams continues living her truth, one Instagram post at a time. And that, perhaps, is the most powerful message of all.

Melinda French Gates Remembers Serena Williams Hyping Her Up When She Thought Nothing Would Fit Her Body

Melinda French Gates found strength in Serena Williams.

The famed philanthropist, 60, praised the tennis star, 43, for giving her the confidence to embrace her own body during a powerful conversation documented in a season 2 episode of her Moments That Make Us series on YouTube.

French Gates recalled meeting Williams for the first time at a dinner, where guests were invited to dress up in costumes before heading into the “joyful” event. The outfits, however, were provided and seemingly limited in assorted sizes.

“We both come in late, and you and I are looking at the costumes,” the mom of three told the athlete. “I’m looking at these costumes and I’m thinking to myself, ‘There is no way one of these is going to fit in my hips’. And I said it out loud,” she added.

Talking to Williams, the billionaire activist recalled, “You said, ‘And you think one of them is going to fit me!’ ” before the pair burst out laughing when thinking back to the situation they found themselves in at the event.

“I just went, ‘Oh my God. Here’s somebody who’s so real in our bodies to celebrate who we are,’ ” French Gates remembered thinking at the time, noting that she told Williams her positive realization that night.

French Gates recalled telling the Olympian that she “didn’t follow tennis that much,” but the “one time” she saw Williams play, she was captivated by the confidence the athlete displayed in her own body and strength.

“I happened to sit behind you [at the match] and I thought, ‘There is a woman who is so strong in her body… Why are we not all celebrating our bodies?’ And it gave me the confidence to do that,” the philanthropist said.

Williams replied, “Super wow. Thank you for saying that.”

Of that night they were trying on costumes, the tennis player recalled praising French Gates’ figure at the party.

“I looked at you. I said, ‘Oh, you got body!'” Williams reminded her in the episode, prompting the duo to smile and laugh at the memory.

French Gates added, “You made me feel much better about it.”

Williams emphasized, “You got a nice body!” She told her, “I’m like, ‘Sis, where do you get that from?’ “

“I loved it, I loved it,” French Gates replied.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, French Gates recalled the “sweet” interaction she had with Williams and the empowering moment they shared together at the event.

“That is something that we connected over the first time we met,” she told PEOPLE exclusively. “We were at dinner together with a group of women the night before, and then I saw her the next day. Same group of women, but a different setting.”

“It was just one of those vulnerable moments… Everybody else was in these costumes and there was one that fit everybody,” French Gates continued. “I think most women don’t realize that all of us struggle with some form of body issue. You might not like your arms or your legs or your hips or whatever.”

“And here she is just this incredibly strong, powerful woman on the court,” she gushed of Williams.

French Gates’ Moments That Makes Us YouTube series released its second installment on Wednesday, Aug. 6. The release came one year after its debut season, which she launched in celebration of turning 60.

Season 1 featured impactful conversations with changemakers of all ages, who candidly discussed their biggest life transitions. Guests included Michelle Obama, Megan Rapinoe, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King.
