Coco Gauff Gets Huge Offer From Serena Williams’ Ex-Coach After Canadian Open Setback

Coco Gauff’s serve, once considered one of the most potent weapons in her arsenal, has lately become a major cause of concern for her. Of late, she has struggled with consistency, committing an alarming number of double faults. Last year, she committed 430 double faults in her 71 matches. This year, she has played 44 matches and has committed more than 250 double faults already—42 of them came in just the three singles matches she played in the Canadian Open.

She committed 23 double faults in her opening match against Danielle Collins—the fifth-highest number ever recorded in a WTA Tour match. Last year, when her service struggles cost her the US Open fourth round against Emma Navarro, Rennae Stubbs couldn’t help but flag what she thought were obvious gaps in her technique during an ESPN conversation. And she did that in the presence of the young American’s former coach, Brad Gilbert. “…hard for me to say because Brad [Gilbert] is sitting here…but her technique, the elbow, is too low, the grip is a little weird as well. So it’s hard for her to get that nice first serve and then the same or similar second serve,” Stubbs said. Shortly after that, Gauff and Gilbert went their separate ways.

Even recently, after seeing her performance at the Canadian Open, she took a jibe at her current team, featuring Matt Daly and Jean-Christophe Faurel, saying, “I don’t understand why now she has literally two coaches. Nothing has changed on her serve…like the ball toss is so far ahead of her on the second serve.” However, Stubbs isn’t the only one who has criticized Coco Gauff’s coaching team recently. In a recent interview with Tennis 365, Serena Williams’ childhood coach, Rick Macci, expressed his interest in working with the youngster on her biggest weakness. Macci said, “To consult or help someone, obviously right off the bat, it would be Coco Gauff. I mean, there’s no doubt about it, I could flip the script with her second serve and forehand. No doubt about it, but it’d have to be done in the off-season.

Rick Macci’s experience over the past four decades in molding a player is unmatched by any teacher in the tennis world. He has coached the likes of the Williams sisters, Andy Roddick, Maria Sharapova, Jennifer Capriati, and many others in their formative years. During the interview, he spoke about his close involvement with Coco Gauff‘s family and also went on to add how he wants to improve Gauff’s serve, “This has to be science-based, and it has to be done from a biomechanical point of view. And I’ve looked at her serve from every different direction, and right now, because she’s been doing this since a little kid, the muscle memory is baked in extra crispy. She has very, very long arms, she has a very loose arm.

He stated that he would work closely with Dr. Brian Gorden, who has a PhD in Biomechanics, and look to modify Gauff’s technique, even going so far as to claim that Coco Gauff’s constant trouble can be fixed in one hour.

However, this wasn’t the first time that we’ve seen him addressing this issue with Coco Gauff. There have been plenty of instances in the past where we saw Rick Macci speaking about Coco Gauff’s serving woes. Even last year, Macci made this bold claim that Coco Gauff’s serving woes barely require an hour to be fixed.

What does Coco Gauff have to say about her ‘double trouble’?

Victoria Mboko, wrapping up the match against Coco Gauff, within 62 minutes of their R16 clash at the Canadian Open, raised the eyebrows of several tennis bigwigs. She defeated the American by 6-1,6-4, thanks, in no small part, to the 6 double faults and 24 unforced errors that the latter committed.

Although Gauff managed to reduce the numbers quite significantly since her first match against Danielle Collins, there were a few things that rang alarm bells in the mind of BBC commentator, David Law. According to Law, “I was struck by just how lost… she looked confused. She looked about why it’s going wrong. I just detected somebody who is very confused right now, and that must be a horrible feeling when you’re as experienced as Coco Gauff is, that you’ve won two Grand Slams, one of them quite recently. You’ve come off the back of that. Where has the game gone?

David Law was quite surprised by her performance, especially in her match against Danielle Collins. But coming to her duel against the teenager, after the match against Coco Gauff, Victoria Mboko was asked if anything had crossed her mind seeing Gauff make plenty of errors in that match. “Well, I mean, nothing really crosses my mind just because, I mean, that’s the game. People make errors. It happens. I make errors too. So I was just really focused on myself and what I had to do,” said Mboko.

But when it came to sharing her own thoughts on this, Coco Gauff spoke about her serving woes after her match against Veronika Kudermetova. She admitted that she is quite “disappointed” seeing her commit such a large number of double faults in her matches. But the most interesting thing from her statements was Gauff claiming she did well during the practice sessions. “I just would like it to transfer to the match,” said Coco Gauff.

he said that she doesn’t want to lead the stats when it comes to double faults. However, having said that, she also claimed, “I know I probably won’t be ever double fault-free, but if I could get that to 2%, 3%, it would make a big difference in just making these matches a lot easier.

Coco Gauff is now all set to enter the Cincinnati Open, and she has been handed a pretty tricky draw over there.

“They Never Accepted Me Because of My Skin” — Serena Williams Opens Up About Pain, Prejudice, and Power in Her Interracial Marriage

In a deeply emotional and soul-baring interview that has sent shockwaves across social media, tennis legend Serena Williams peeled back the layers of her seemingly picture-perfect life to share a painful truth: her husband’s family never fully accepted her — because she is Black.

With a calm but resolute voice, the 23-time Grand Slam champion revealed the silent struggles she’s endured behind closed doors in her marriage to tech entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit.

“I know my husband loves me. He always has,”

Serena began.

“But what most people don’t know is… his family never fully accepted me. Not because of who I am — but because of the color of my skin.”

The confession has ignited powerful conversations about race, identity, and belonging — especially in interracial relationships. For Serena, whose career and achievements have broken records and redefined greatness, the rejection she felt from Alexis’s family was not just hurtful — it was deeply personal.

She recounted how, in the early days of their relationship, she was met with distant stares, patronizing politeness, and a lingering sense of exclusion.

“At first, I thought I was imagining it… I thought maybe I needed to try harder. But over time, it became too clear to ignore.”

Despite Alexis’s unwavering support and love — which Serena made clear has never faltered — the emotional toll of never truly being embraced by his inner circle lingered.

“I’ve won titles. I’ve built my life from the ground up. But in their eyes… I was still not quite enough for their son. And I know exactly why.”

Serena emphasized that she wasn’t speaking from a place of bitterness. Instead, she was using her platform to shed light on a reality that many Black women face daily — walking into spaces where their presence alone becomes uncomfortable for others.

“My value doesn’t depend on anyone’s comfort with my Blackness,”

she declared.

“I no longer chase the approval of people who were never willing to see my worth.”

The emotional moment sparked thunderous applause — not just for Serena’s bravery in speaking her truth, but for voicing a shared experience many endure in silence.

Fans across the world have praised her honesty, calling her a voice for the voiceless and a symbol of resilience.

As the video continues to go viral, the message is clear: Even icons feel pain — and sometimes, the biggest battles are the ones the world never sees.

Serena Williams joins a viral TikTok trend after a refreshing mist while sightseeing through Niagara Falls

Serena Williams was doing her thing: vacation, family, and a peaceful tour through one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

Dressed in a pink raincoat and dark sunglasses, she boarded the boat that sails through the mist of Niagara Falls, never imagining that minutes later she’d star in one of the funniest videos she’s ever shared online.

It was one of those moments when everything seems under control. Some tourists were admiring the view, others taking photos. Serena was calmly holding her daughter, enjoying the scenery. Then came the whistle. The one that signals the boat is heading straight into the heart of the mist.

The key moment came with that sound, sharp and loud, the one many recognize as the prelude to chaos. Serena, eyes wide in surprise, grabbed her raincoat as if that could stop what was coming. In the next shot, already holding her daughter, the water poured down and both ended up laughing while a viral TikTok song played in the background.

Unforgettable moments

The video was part of a social media trend where people share funny or unexpected reactions. But when Serena Williams joins in, the result becomes even more epic. Her expression, her scream, and her laughter said it all. Sometimes the simplest things are the most unforgettable.

Fans quickly filled the comments with messages like “In Canada it is called Maid of the Mist. Is it called Lady of the Mist on the USA side?”, “That was one wild ride, Niagara Falls never disappoints!” and “It’s the most awesome experience!” Because seeing a world champion soaked and smiling isn’t something you witness every day.

With every video, Serena reminds us that life can be joyful too. Even though she’s no longer on the court, she’s clearly happy. No rackets, no trophies this time. Just laughter, water everywhere, and an adventure her daughter will never forget.

It wasn’t the return to the tennis court that turned heads-it was a stroll through New York City.

Serena Williams, vacationing with her family in the Big Apple last week, made headlines after appearing notably slimmer during a casual outing.

But when TMZ Sports approached her about the constant fan chatter surrounding her weight, the retired tennis legend kept it simple: “Everyone looks great!” And just like that, she shut it down with a smile.

When asked how she was feeling, the 43-year-old four-time Olympic gold medalist added, “Look good, feel good, right?” It wasn’t much, but it was enough to fuel an online frenzy.

Fans Are Talking, Serena’s Not-And That Says A Lot

Followers on social media have been tracking her transformation for months, noting everything from her tighter frame to her defined abs. Since welcoming her youngest daughter, Adira, nearly two years ago, Williams is estimated to have lost about 40 pounds-and people have noticed.

But Serena’s not in the mood to break it all down publicly. Instead, she’s been dropping glimpses of her high-intensity workouts, wellness routines, and plant-based meals on Instagram, often without any caption at all.

A Time magazine feature earlier this year revealed a bit more: Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian live on a sprawling five-acre farm in South Florida, where they grow much of their own food-everything from sweet potatoes and berries to antioxidant-packed Moringa leaves she dries and brews into tea. “We basically live off the land,” she said in the April cover story.

She’s also trading recipes with friend Meghan Markle, whose own backyard garden in California has become a similar source of inspiration. And while some fans have speculated that Serena’s slim-down could signal a possible comeback, her recent projects suggest otherwise.

She’s laser-focused on life after tennis-running Serena Ventures, investing over $100 million into women- and minority-led startups, and even jumping into the sports ownership arena with a stake in the upcoming WNBA franchise, the Toronto Tempo.

Oh, and she’s executive producing Carrie Soto Is Back for Netflix-a story about a retired Grand Slam champ who returns for one final shot at glory. Whether it’s art imitating life or just good timing, Serena isn’t saying.

Serena Williams isn’t letting critics of her recent weight loss get into her head as she continues to showcase her fit form.

While the Grand Slam champ was on an outing in New York on Friday, where she has been enjoying a vacation with her family, she was asked by TMZ Sports how she handles fans constantly ‘monitoring her weight.’

‘Everyone looks great!’ she replied, sidestepping the question.

The gold medal winner has been showcasing her workout routine and sleek curves on social media, where many followers have said she has gotten too thin.

The retired professional athlete has lost around 40 pounds since giving birth to her youngest daughter Adira, 21 months ago.

She is also mom to her daughter Alexis Olympia, seven. Williams shares both girls with her husband Alexis Ohanian, 42.

In addition to the grueling workouts shared on social media, which have contributed to her six-pack abs, the Wimbledon champ follows a mostly plant-based diet.

She and Ohanian, a co-founder of Reddit, live on a five-acre farm in South Florida where they grow much of their own food.

‘We basically live off the land,’ she told Time for its Time 100 issue in April.

The family, with the help of their staff, grow purple sweet potatoes, mangoes, blueberries, and raspberries on the property along with peppers and other crops.

‘We get so much honey it’s insane,’ Williams she told the publication, revealing she also dehydrates anti-oxidant rich Moringa leaves to make tea.

Williams is good friends with Meghan Markle, who also has her own crop yielding garden at her home in southern California, which she shares with Prince Harry and their children Archie and Lilibet.

‘I’m always like, “Girl, what are you doing today?”‘ the multi-faceted entrepreneur explained, adding, ‘So we’re trading recipes.’

When not practicing on her home tennis court, Williams has been keeping herself busy as a venture capitalist through her Serena Ventures.

She has raised more than $100 million of outside capital to invest in more than 30 companies since 2021.

Williams has invested in the WNBA team the Toronto Tempo, which will take the court in 2026.

The Nine Two Six media company founder will also executive produce Carrie Soto is Back for Netflix.

The project is based on the Taylor Jenkins Reid novel by the same name, about a grand slam champ who comes out of retirement to reclaim her Grand Slam title.

Among the most successful tennis players ever, Serena Williams retired in September 2022 following the US Open in New York.

In women’s tennis, several young stars including Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek, have emerged ever since. Both are among the most well-known WTA Tour players right now having taken home several Grand Slams.

But Serena recently said something very strong about how today’s players behave and how the WTA culture has changed. She believes women are being too quiet about their success.

Serena Williams says women should not hide their confidence

In July 2025, Serena Williams gave an interview during a media event hosted by Reckitt, a health brand she works with. The interview was published across U.S. media platforms, including People Magazine and Today Show. During the interview, Serena said that female players today should not be afraid to say they are the best.

She said, “It’s okay to scream that I am the best at this… We don’t really celebrate ourselves enough. We have to hide ourselves or we have to just, kind of, almost dummy down who we are.”

Serena Williams believes women players are scared to show how good they are, and that needs to change. She explained that during her career, she always showed confidence and never felt guilty about being great. She wants today’s stars to feel the same way.

Coco Gauff opens up about confidence after winning French Open 2025

One of the players: Serena had 20-year-old Coco Gauff in mind, perhaps. After defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the finals, she won the 2025 French Open in Paris on June 8. Her second Grand Slam triumph was that. Still, Gauff had a tough year previous to that.

Earlier in May she lost two significant finals in Madrid and Rome, which undermined her confidence. In a press conference for the WTA after her French Open win, Gauff remarked. She said, “I’m someone who strives for perfection… I’ve been working on finding balance. You’re not going to win every tournament.”

Regrettably, her following Wimbledon match resulted in a first-round loss in London on July 1. Still, Coco Gauff claims she has faith in herself and will rebound vigorously for the 2025 US Open starting August 26 in New York.

She Tracks Her Glucose

https://www.instagram.com/p/DMNfa9rsphS/?img_index=5

In order to improve her diet, Serena uses the Lingo program to track her glucose. She revealed to Yahoo Life that she had to cut some foods out that were spiking her levels. “I generally don’t like syrup, and my body was naturally telling me that. Then watching on my Lingo how my glucose spiked from it, it was just like, no wonder I don’t like it. If I have some sort of aversion to something, maybe there’s a reason that I don’t know. But I feel like with my monitor, I can get that reason.”

She Walks

Serena likes to walk to keep herself in shape. Walking also helps improve her glucose levels. Serena tells Yahoo Life that she started walking a lot more after using the Lingo program. “One thing I found really interesting is that a 10-minute walk can really flatten or lower your glucose spike. It just sends you [a notification], like, ‘Go for a walk’ or ‘Stand up.’”

She Keeps Healthy Food In Her Fridge

Serena makes sure to eat a healthy diet. She also makes sure to keep healthy food in her kitchen. Serena shared some of her go-to foods in an interview with Bon Appetit. “My fridge is really just vegan: coconut water, Gatorade (my favorite!), cucumbers, mint, kale, vegetables, ginger, and wheat grass.”

She Mostly Eats A Vegan Diet

Serena mostly eats a vegan diet. “When I don’t eat healthy, I just feel terrible–to be honest, I feel like I almost have pain,” Serena explains to Vogue. “So now, I eat vegan about six days out of the week. And then if I want, like, some eggs or something, I do that on the seventh day. That said, I was at the fair the other day and they had donut burgers, which I’ve never had in my life. I actually don’t like the taste of beef, so I generally don’t eat it–like, ever. But I was like, ‘You know what, you live once. I’m just going to try this thing!’”

She Loves Cardio

Serena does a lot of cardio workouts to keep herself in shape. “I do the cardio exercises on Tonal,” she says in her Vogue interview. “Which is really helpful for me just to get my body back and used to calisthenics. I don’t necessarily want a trainer in my room or in the gym with me, so just having the Tonal trainers is a relief. It’s just something different from what I’ve been doing for the past 20-plus years, and it’s refreshing.

Serena Williams had fans divided with her latest Instagram drop — a sultry set of bikini snaps taken during a luxe yacht getaway.

The 43-year-old tennis icon, who recently flaunted her toned figure in mirror selfies, turned up the heat on Thursday as she showed off her post-retirement glow-up.

In one sizzling snap, the Wimbledon champ struck a high-fashion pose with her arm raised, flaunting her abs and sculpted curves like a seasoned swimsuit model.

Another photo showed her perched on the edge of the boat in a sheer sarong and bikini top, with a postcard-worthy ocean behind her.

‘Me and my girls… are out in the streets tonight. But we starting here,’ Serena captioned the carousel, which included a peek at her group of glam yacht companions.

But while plenty praised her latest look, others were quick to sound off — accusing the superstar of changing her figure too drastically.

The 43-year-old superstar served major heat as she embraced life after tennis with a sultry new post

‘She’s too thin… why?’ one critic asked, sparking a heated back-and-forth in the comments.

As the debate raged on, some fans defended the star’s new look while others said they barely recognized her.

One fan chimed in, ‘She’s definitely not thick anymore.’

Someone else added, ‘They don’t know that she was even thinner from 1998-2007.’

Perched confidently on the edge of the yacht, Serena struck a striking pose in a bold blue bikini, soaking in the sun and the spotlight

Of course, many rushed to staunchly defend the superstar.

‘I dunno what ppl talking about she still thick and healthy let her live,’ wrote one.

A different commenter posted, ‘She’s not too thin, her body looks like how it looked around 2013-2014.’

A fierce defender fired back, writing, ‘They just want to trash Serena all the time. She too thick, she too muscular, she too slim, her husband white, she bleaching her skin.

‘When they see she still dark they realize it was just makeup and lighting why she looked light, they ain’t have sh** to say. One thing though, Serena is living her life.’

One more agreed, sharing, ‘Serena could care less about her haters. If she didn’t look so good, she wouldn’t have any haters. Serena and her mom and sister look fabulous!’

Amid all the buzz over her latest look, it’s a reminder of just how much Serena’s tennis legacy continues to dominate headlines—both on and off the court.

The icon last claimed a Grand Slam title in 2017, winning the Australian Open, though she fell short in the US Open and Wimbledon finals twice more after that.

Over her illustrious career, Serena has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles — the most by any player in the Open Era — and spent 319 weeks as world No. 1.

Her most recent match came at the 2022 US Open, where she battled Ajla Tomljanovic in a grueling three-hour, three-set thriller before coming up short.

Off the court, Serena balances her business ventures and philanthropy with family life alongside husband Alexis Ohanian and their two daughters.

She married Reddit co-founder Alexis on November 16, 2017, in a star-studded ceremony in New Orleans

But while plenty praised her latest look, others were quick to sound off ¿ accusing the superstar of changing her figure too drastically

The couple welcomed their first daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. (known as Olympia), in September 2017.

They expanded their family five years later when Serena gave birth to their younger daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August 2023.

Meanwhile, Serena’s older sister Venus shows no signs of slowing down — the seven-time Slam champ recently secured a wild card to compete in the DC Open at age 45.

Venus, who hasn’t played a tour-level match since March 2024, is proving age is just a number.

Serena Williams, 43, and her husband Alexis Ohanian, 42, revealed a big secret this week. The couple are GOATs in their respective industries. Serena won 23 Grand Slam titles during her career, and Alexis is known as the “GOAT of investing.”

On Monday, July 14, Alexis announced to X (formerly Twitter) that he will be joining season 17 of Shark Tank as a guest investor. He wrote to his 579,000 followers: “Looks like the secret is out. Can’t wait for y’all to watch.”

The news coincides with other changes in the Shark Tank universe. The show is moving from its usual Friday slot to Wednesdays at 10/9c. Along with Alexis, other guest investors are Chip and Joanna Gaines, Michael Strahan, and the creator of Poppi, Allison Elssworth.

Fans of Shark Tank quickly celebrated Alexis’ announcement. One wrote, “Oh wow, congrats boss.” Another shared: “This is awesome! Those entrepreneurs are so lucky to have you there.” Serena is a proud wife to the co-founder of Reddit. In a video posted online, the tennis legend said: “He started a whole movement in women’s sports by getting billions invested.”

Last year, Alexis launched Athlos, a women’s only track and field event, where winners for each event earn $60,000. He is a co-owner of Chelsea Women’s football club and the Los Angeles based National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team, Angel City.

“When I first told Serena I was gonna buy or start a women’s soccer team here in the States, she actually tried to talk me out of it,” Alexis told CNN Sports. “I think she had been so exposed to the infrastructure around women’s sports. Because of her lived experience, she actually was trying to talk me out of it because she had to kick down a lot of doors.”

He continued: “When experts in a space try to talk me out of it, that’s actually when I tend to lean in more because it tells me that sort of dissent or that pushback is usually where there’s a tremendous opportunity for innovation and progress.”

Alexis invests in women’s sports because his wife is a former athlete, but also for the future of his two daughters, Olympia, 7, and Adira, 1.

Proud parents Serena and Alexis with their daughter at a red carpet event, Alexis is holding Olympia in his arms

“Being blessed to have two Black daughters in particular helps me reframe even some of the most subtle things,” he wrote to X in April. “So I take Olympia golfing every Sunday. I am her daddy caddy. I don’t know how to play golf, I never played golf. And so we’ll go out there, and I am terrible, but we have a good instructor who’s also a woman.”

And because her dad is an investor, Olympia receives allowance through a legitimate system.

“Serena was her lawyer in the negotiation. I drew up a real contract. We negotiated it. Her mom was her counsel, which was really frustrating,” Alexis told on The Jemele Hill podcast. He went on to explain Olympia gets $7 a week for doing chores like feeding the dog, making her bed, and putting clothes in the hamper.

“I figured out how to get her to value cash, which was helpful,” he continued. “[Serena and I are] both trying to navigate how to create the circumstances for her to be a functional adult, while also having resources that we couldn’t have imagined.”

These investor and negotiation skills are sure to come in handy on Season 17 of Shark Tank. The season will air this fall on ABC.

The bond between Simone and Serena is well-known. The tennis superstar playfully teased the gymnast on a post from Simone’s Belize getaway with her NFL beau, Jonathan Owens. Simone’s Instagram featured a mix of vacation snaps including bikini shots, delicious eats, and couple selfies.

Her caption expressed her affection for the destination: “Belize, I love you [green heart emoji].”

Serena jumped into the comments with her signature humor, quipping: “Looks boring, lol [zany face, winking face with tongue out, and squinting face with tongue face emojis].”

While soaking up the sun in the south of France, Serena couldn’t resist teasing Simone with a video of the shimmering blue waters from a boat off the coast of Corsica, where she vacationed with her family.

She cheekily captioned the post, “Jealous?” and made sure to tag the 11-time Olympic medalist.

Simone quickly shared the video on her own Instagram Story, replying, “girllllllllllll yes,” accompanied by a broken heart and crying emoji, and playfully warned, “just you wait”.

Simone’s friendly jabs and support for Serena have been making waves, along with her outspoken views on Riley Gaines.

The two athletes found themselves at odds over transgender athletes’ participation in sports. The debate ignited when Riley criticized a post from the Minnesota State High School League celebrating its first softball state championship win.

Riley’s controversial comment suggested the victory was “to be expected when your star player is a boy,” targeting pitcher Marissa Rothenberger, a transgender woman who played a pivotal role in the team’s win.

The decorated Olympian clapped back: “@Riley_Gaines_ You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive, OR creating a new avenue where trans people feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports! !”.

She went on: “But instead… You bully them… One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around! ! ! ! !”.

Simone was also caught up in a cosmetic surgery whirlwind after sharing a gorgeous bikini photo. The Instagram account @thecosmeticlane stirred up rumors of plastic surgery by posting two comparative photos of Simone.

They added the caption, “It looks like #SimoneBiles got a Breast Augmentation. I wonder what surgeon will step up to claim their work.. any guesses on size?” Simone has yet to confirm or deny these speculations publicly.
