Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers in history. During his career, he has won 82 times on the PGA Tour, collecting 15 majors.

This includes five Masters, four PGA Championships, three US Opens and three Open Championships. His injury issues and personal problems looked like ending his career in the mid-2010’s, but Woods came back and completed one of the greatest comebacks in sport, winning his fifth Masters title in 2019 at the age of 43.

Woods announced himself to the world of professional golf in 1997, winning the Masters by a record-breaking 12 strokes at the age of 21. From 1999 to 2010, he was a dominant force in the sport, winning 13 major championships during this time. Woods’ 82 PGA Tour wins have only been matched by Sam Snead. If he can somehow return to action and win another event, he will top the all-time list for wins on the PGA Tour. Time is running out for the ‘Big Cat’, but he will be determined to defy the odds once again.

The American revolutionsed the game, combining his long-game prowess with extreme mental fortitude and clutch putting in key moments. In an interview with GolfTV in May 2020, Woods was asked who the best player he competed against during his career was. The 15-time Grand Slam champion replied with two household names, who both had huge impacts on the sport.

Woods has had many rivalries during his time as a professional. David Duval was one of the best players on the PGA Tour in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The American won 13 times on the tour between 1997 and 2001, including the Open Championship in 2001, which saw him win by three shots at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club.

The 49-year-old is also one of six male players who have achieved the Career Grand Slam. Rory McIlroy is the only member of the Career Grand Slam club that Woods has competed regularly against. The pair played with each other in the final round of the 2018 Tour Championship, with Woods finishing ahead of the Northern Irishman to win his first tournament in five years. Despite facing off against the likes of McIlroy, Woods admitted that there were two other stars who caused him the biggest trouble.

Woods named Phil Mickelson as one of the two best players he has faced during his career. Mickelson is a golfing maverick, with 45 PGA Tour wins, including six majors. His most recent major victory came at the PGA Championship, when he was 50, meaning he became the oldest major championship winner in history. He has come agonisingly close to joining the Career Grand Slam club throughout his career, but the US Open has always eluded him. The short game magician has finished second six times in his National Open.

The 55-year-old’s flamboyant style, which included erratic driving and miraculous recovery shots, meant that he was one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour in the 2000s and 2010s. However, in 2022, Mickelson joined the controversial LIV Golf tour, meaning he was suspended from the PGA Tour indefinitely.

The other man Woods name-checked, was Vijay Singh. The Fijian international won three major championships during his career. This included the Masters in 2000, which saw Singh beat Ernie Els by three strokes, while Woods was six behind the eventual champion.

His two other major triumphs came at the PGA Championship. The first of these was in 1998 and the second was in 2004. Singh dramatically beat Chris DiMarco and Justin Leonard in a play-off to secure his third and final major title. Singh’s 2004 season was particularly impressive. He won nine times on the PGA Tour, becoming the number one-ranked golfer in the world. This put him ahead of Woods, who had held the title for six consecutive years.

Singh’s consistent ball striking and power off the tee gave him a significant advantage over his opponents, helping him reach the pinnacle of the sport. He ended his career with 34 PGA Tour wins and a spot in the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Speaking to McNamara in 2020, Woods explained why Mickelson and Singh were the two best players he faced during his career. The 49-year-old said:

“I would have to say it’s either Phil [Mickelson] or Vijay [Singh].

“Those two have won a lot of tournaments and they were so hard to beat in different ways.

“Phil didn’t hit the ball as well as Vijay but his short game was off the charts.

“Vijay hit it better, put a lot of pressure on you, but his short game – his chipping was awesome but he didn’t putt as well as Phil did.

“Those guys kept putting themselves there and I loved it. I loved the challenge of it. Phil and I and Vijay went at it for the better part of 15 years and it’s been a lot of fun.”

Golfing great Sam Torrance has heaped praise on Tiger Woods and his young son, Charlie, highlighting their strikingly similar approach to the game.

The Scottish legend, who clinched four Ryder Cup victories with Team Europe, knows a thing or two about family success in golf, having triumphed at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship with his own son, Daniel, in 2003.

The dynamic duo of the Woods family have teed off together five times at the PNC Championship, most recently securing a runner-up spot in the 2024 tournament, just behind Bernhard and Jason Langer.

Torrance, who has previously lauded the pair’s bond on the course, remains captivated by Charlie’s burgeoning talent, especially after the youngster’s victory at the Team TaylorMade Invitational in May.

Speaking to Mirror US, courtesy of Lottoland, Torrance reiterated his admiration for the teen golfer: “I just know how good the boy is. “When I said that about his father and son thing, I was very lucky to win the Dunhill with my son.

“So I know how special it is to have a boy of your own that can play the game and Charlie looks magnificent.”

He said: “I mean, if you’ve seen the clips of the two of them together, it’s like little and large. They do exactly the same thing. The way they lean on the putter, the way they swing.

“There’s no finer tutor than Tiger Woods to his son. I was very fortunate to have my father teach me my whole life, and there’s nothing better than having someone that loves you teaching you.”

Woods is expected to be in a familiar setting come August, potentially supporting his son at the AJGA Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass’ Players Stadium Course.

This is the same course where Woods celebrated his Players Championship victories in 2001 and 2013, reports the Mirror US.

Torrance, who previously praised Woods’ then-13 year old son during the Notah Begay III Junior National Golf Championship, believes the young golfer has an excellent role model and coach in his father.

“There’s nothing better (for Tiger) and, christ, he’s got a machine there, I think,” Torrance stated. “It will be nice to see how that develops because he couldn’t get a better coach.

“He’ll obviously have all the practice facilities etc he’ll ever need. He’ll not want for a thing in his life, but he’s got a great wee swing and the mannerisms they share is quite extraordinary.”

Recently, Tiger Woods has been making more frequent public appearances, mostly to support his son Charlie’s rising junior golf career.

But while the 15-time major winner looked relatively recovered from his latest Achilles surgery, another rumor has resurfaced over the internet. This time, it is about his hair.

Last week, Dr. Gary Linkov, a certified hair and skin surgeon with over one million YouTube subscribers, disclosed that Woods may have undergone two failed hair transplant surgeries.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - DECEMBER 20: Tiger Woods

READ: After Upsetting Tiger Woods With Retirement Call, Ex-Rival Tries to Undo Damage With 10-Word Statement

He predicted one to be around 2012, while another in 2017, totaling roughly 3,000 grafts to the frontal and mid-scalp.

To do this, Linkov used over 60 photos of Woods from the past three decades and traced the hair loss timeline. Per his observations, in 1994, Tiger had a full head of curly hair, but by the time the Big Cat won his first Masters (1997), there was “some frontotemporal recession.”

Frontotemporal recession is when there is hair loss or thinning at the front and top sides of the head. Usually, it is above the temples.

“It’s very mild, but it’s clearly there compared to just a few years before,” Linkov stated. Following years, there was still thinning of the hairline, but the major difference was spotted in 2006, the year Woods lost his father, Earl Woods.

The 40-year-old surgeon pointed towards Woods’ picture from his video game launch in 2006 and described it as “progressive frontal scalp thinning.”

Tiger Woods Undergoes First Transplant

Then came 2012, the year of his first suspected transplant.

“Tiger’s hairline is looking a bit stronger,” Linkov said in his video, adding he saw signs of FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) scarring on the occipital scalp.

FUT scarring, in simple words, means the mark left on the back of the head after a hair transplant surgery.

The second surgery, according to Linkov, likely occurred in 2017, the same year Woods underwent spinal fusion surgery.

“The primary population of hair in the frontal area is actually the transplanted grafts,” Linkov explained. But the results didn’t hold.

According to the American doctor, by 2023, Woods’ crown thinning had worsened, and Tiger likely didn’t pursue much medical therapy after hair transplant (finasteride or minoxidil), which could have helped preserve density.

Reports confirm that 25% of men experience hair loss by age 21, and by age 50, that number jumps to 70%.

Woods, now 49, fits squarely into that curve. And if you skim through his photos from the 1990s to now, the transformation is pretty undeniable.

As of now, the 3-time Open Championship winner is unlikely to return to competitive golf until 2026, as stated by his doctor, Dr. Charlton.

Colin Montgomerie was the European Tour’s answer to Tiger Woods even before Mr. T turned pro.

The Scottish legend dominated the continent and won 31 titles along the way. His incredible record in Europe made everyone think he would destroy the American League. To everyone’s surprise, in the 142 appearances he made, Montgomerie won 0 titles. That doesn’t mean he didn’t come close.

The Scottish legend had 6 runner-ups to his name, 5 of which were in majors. Yet he failed to win any of them. Like any other champion golfer, he was frustrated with Woods. And when the latter was not performing well, Montgomerie didn’t shy throwing shade at him. However, he seems to have had a change of tune since then.

Colin Montgomerie: Tiger should have retired at St Andrews

READ: ‘Just keep doing it’: Eye-Opening Tiger Woods News Emerges This Week

Just a few hours ago, he sat down with the crew of Cookie Jar Golf, discussing the impact of Woods during his prime. Commending his incredible dedication and fitness to keep competing, Montgomerie said“Tiger changed the way golfers thought about themselves as athletes. You can never say that (Jack) Nicholas or (Arnold) Palmer were the best athletes in the world, but you could with Tiger Woods.” Woods was famously known for pushing his physical limits to reach the next level of golf. His fitness routines were so harsh that Michelle Wie West paid the price for them with injuries and early retirement by following them. The 82-time PGA Tour champion has struggled with injuries of his own that forced him off the course.

“They are fitter, stronger, bigger. The athletes, the Brooks Koepkas, the Bryson DeChambeaus, real athletes that can do a lot more than just play golf. Tiger changed that. He changed the way we had to think about what we did,” Montgomerie said, further amplifying the impact of Woods on the current generation of golfers. Nearly all the active players he mentioned idolize Tiger and have grown up watching him write golf history. Some of the fittest players on the course today, like DeChambeau, Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, and Ludvig Aberg, were inspired by Woods, and they have openly confessed that. However, each of them has found their own path of fitness to compete at the same level as the 15-time major winner.

It was not just fitness that Tiger Woods made popular. As Colin expressed, “Youngsters were wearing the Nike hats, the whole Nike thing blew from there as well. Golf became cool. People were playing golf all over the world, wanting to be the next Tiger Woods. And it was great for golf. It has sustained, to be honest. We’re talking ’97, we’re talking 30 years ago now, almost, and it has sustained to this day.” As the Scottish legend admitted, Woods made golf cool. So much so that his impact has lasted long after his prime. In fact, Woods still moves the needle enough to be one of the most impactful individuals in golf.

From wanting him to retire due to bad form to confessing that he made the sport what it is today, Montgomerie has certainly come a long way. Well, the 62-year-old may have a moment of clarity after the harsh comments he made about his rival not so long ago. But it may also be because of the furious reaction Tiger Woods had to Colin Montgomerie’s jab last year. Let’s see how Mr. T reacted.

Tiger Woods left fuming with Colin Montgomerie’s comments

Colin Montgomerie saw the opportunity to bash Tiger Woods about his bad form after the latter missed the cuts in the PGA Championship and U.S. Open in 2024. He suggested that the 15-time major winner should consider retiring from golf, a statement he later retracted from saying that it was taken out of context. Nevertheless, the damage had already been done, and Woods was furious about it.

In the press conference for the 2024 Open Championship, he said, “I’ll play as long as I can play, and I feel like I can still win the event. As a past champion, I’m exempt until I’m 60. Colin’s not. He’s not a past champion, so he’s not exempt. So he doesn’t get the opportunity to make that decision. I do. When I get to his age, I get to still make that decision, whereas he doesn’t.” Montgomerie’s comment clearly triggered Woods. However, his response made it clear that he was not looking to retire anytime soon. Hopefully, this still stands true past 2025 as Tiger Woods turns 50 on December 30 and is eligible for the Champions Tour.

Tiger Woods is currently off the competitive golf scene following his March Achilles surgery, his 14th major operation.

Despite this hiatus, fans continue to spot him on the course, often as a supportive dad.

Recently, Woods was seen at the Nicklaus Junior Championship in Tequesta, Florida, cheering on his 16-year-old son Charlie, who finished sixth in a field of 122.

Woods has remained present throughout his son’s rise, including celebrating his first American Junior Golf Association win in May.

However, an astonishing fact about Woods’ own golf game came up this week. On the latest episode of Golf.com’s “Subpar” podcast, that star’s former caddie Steve Williams divulged a wild long‑held secret.

Williams routinely gave Tiger incorrect yardages to exploit his adrenaline‑charged state.

“The one thing I always noticed for Tiger when he was running a little warm is the adrenaline that he would get going,” Williams explained. “I could tell that when the adrenaline was going, he would walk quicker, he would talk quicker. Everything became a bit quicker.”

“The biggest thing I did was adjust the yardages all the time. I mean I was constantly doing that. You know, if it was 160 yards and it’s a 9-iron, I’d be telling him it’s 170 or something,” Williams continued.

“I’d be adjusting the yardages so often because he just got the adrenaline going and ball started going further and further.”

Even on par‑threes, Williams recalled telling Tiger a six‑iron distance as a seven‑iron to keep him in check. The longtime caddie admitted this took courage.

“I had to be extremely aware of that, and I got a very good handle on that, to the point where I can recall one round at Bay Hill in the final round of one of his victories there,” Williams remarked.

“I didn’t give him the right yardage – the correct yardage – on any shot for the entire round… I did that so often when he got running hot and got the adrenaline going,” Williams added.

“Yeah. It took him a while to (figure it out). I can’t remember or pinpoint exactly when he asked me something about it. He said, ‘Just keep doing it. You know what you are doing.’”

Vanessa Trump has opened up on the “emotional rollercoaster” she went through with her eldest daughter, Kai Trump, last summer when choosing which university she would be attending in 2026.

The U.S. President’s former daughter-in-law may have hit the headlines earlier this year when her relationship with Tiger Woods was officially announced, yet her recent admission on another memorable moment within the last 12 months has now also caught the attention.

Kai recently gave fans a glimpse into what her mom is really like behind the scenes in a TikTok video of the two sharing dinner together. Thankfully for the 47-year-old, Woods’ children are already fond of her, with their warmth towards their dad’s new girlfriend a mutual feeling – as U.S. President Donald Trump gave the romance his seal of approval.

Trump, however, has recently turned heads by revealing what it was like to help her daughter choose her university for next year. Last summer, the mother-daughter duo visited a number of colleges, before Kai ultimately chose to play golf at the University of Miami.

And while she is incredibly proud of the 18-year-old and will offer her full support, Woods’ new flame couldn’t help but admit that it certainly took a toll on her emotions in a recent video uploaded to Kai’s popular YouTube channel.

When asked by one fan to share one of their favorite moments together, Trump said: “We visited quite a few colleges this past summer, which was an emotional roller coaster, a little bit.

“Because obviously when your kid goes away you want them to pick the school that they want to go to, but inside I also want her to go not too far.”

Trump then added that, despite feeling anxious about her daughter leaving home, she remained quiet about the situation in order to allow the aspiring golfer to choose her own path. After Kai chose Miami, Trump admitted that she felt “lucky”.

Her daughter recently caught the eye at the 41st edition of the Nicklaus Junior Championship where she performed alongside Woods’ son, Charlie, although it was the latter who ended up by far the happier at the end of the two-round tournament.

The teenagers, bearing the weight of such huge names on their back, have emerged as two of the nation’s most promising golfers within their respective age categories, and put their skills to the test once more by teeing off in Florida at the end of last month.

After finishing even-par for the tournament with a final round 69 (2-under), Charlie placed sixth in a field of 122 boys golfers, finishing just four shots back of eventual winner Jeremy Hsu of Port St. Lucie, who won the tournament at 4-under.

Kai, meanwhile, finished tied for 21st out of 32 golfers, having struggled to a final round score of a 3-over 74, putting her 17-over for the tournament. That’s despite playing the front nine at 1-under – the best of any girls player in the final round.

Both teenagers currently attend the Benjamin School, a private school in Palm Beach, Florida, where Kai is varsity captain of the golf team. Like her, Charlie is also aspiring to become a pro on the greens, and recently secured his place in the U.S Junior Amateur Championship in July.

Golf legend Tiger Woods and former model Vanessa Trump are reportedly heading towards marriage, according to a new report that has stirred speculation across celebrity and sports circles.

The couple, who went public with their relationship in March 2025, are said to be “very serious,” with insiders suggesting that wedding plans may be on the horizon.

“She’s finally found happiness”

A source close to Vanessa told Page Six that “They’re very serious. Wedding bells serious.”
“She’s so happy! She’s finally found happiness. She’s found happiness for the first time in her life.”

The couple’s romance, which began quietly around Thanksgiving 2024, was confirmed when Woods posted a photo of them together on social media with the caption, “Love is in the air, and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”

Living together and sharing family life

According to Radar Online, Vanessa has reportedly moved into Woods’ 40 million dollar estate in Jupiter Island, Florida. She has full access to the property, including security codes, and is said to be living there “essentially full-time.” “She had drawers and cubbyholes for all her personal items. She cooked meals there. So it was a no-brainer as far as Tiger’s concerned,” an insider shared.
Their children—Vanessa’s five from her previous marriage to Donald Trump Jr. and Woods’ two with ex-wife Elin Nordegren—attend the same elite school in Palm Beach, further intertwining their family lives.

“Tiger is all in”

Despite concerns from friends about Woods’ 1.3 billion dollar fortune and the absence of a prenuptial agreement, the golfer appears fully committed.

“Tiger is all in and saying this is a go,” the insider told Radar Online. Adding, “He seems certain this has marriage potential. He’s madly in love with Vanessa. Anyone can see it in his eyes.”

Presidential blessing

Even Donald Trump, Vanessa’s former father-in-law, has weighed in. In a March Oval Office meeting, he reportedly said, “I love Tiger and I love Vanessa. He and I have a very special, very good relationship.” Further adding, “He told me about it, and I said, ‘Tiger, that’s good, that’s good.’ I’m very happy for both. Just let them both be happy. They’re both great.”

A new chapter for both

If the couple does tie the knot, it would be the second marriage for both. Woods was previously married to Elin Nordegren from 2004 to 2010, while Vanessa divorced Donald Trump Jr. in 2018. Their relationship has reportedly received support from both families, with Vanessa’s daughter Kai Trump and Woods’ son Charlie Woods bonding over their shared passion for golf.

Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump are still going strong, but friends are reportedly noticing a change in the pro golfer.

The 49-year-old athlete and the former daughter-in-law of Donald Trump are “over the moon” in love with each other, according to an InTouch Weekly source, but that’s not the news that’s turning heads in Woods’ circles. It seems that he is happy to spend his hard-earned money on his girlfriend, something that he didn’t necessarily do in past relationships.

“Tiger is fully enmeshed in Vanessa’s world. He was just at the White House with her and was welcomed with open arms by everyone,” the insider added. “She has a very high-flying circle of friends, and he’s in with them too and planning to rent a massive super yacht this summer to cruise around the Mediterranean with Vanessa and a bunch of her friends.”

That sounds like a grand plan for the unexpected couple, but the golf legend can certainly afford it. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Woods is worth $800 million, thanks to his professional golf career and his 27-year endorsement with Nike, which ended in 2024. Even with his significant earnings, he wasn’t known for freely spending his money.

The InTouch Weekly source alleged that Woods “wants to impress” his girlfriend, so “he’s certainly enjoying himself” by spoiling her. The unlikely duo began dating in November 2024 “just before Thanksgiving,” per the Daily Mail. Woods and Trump’s children both attend the same elite private school in Palm Beach, Florida, so they often crossed paths. Plus, Trump’s eldest daughter Kai, 18, whom she shares with ex Donald Trump Jr., is a talented golfer who is committed to attending the University of Miami in 2025.

The relationship was confirmed by People in mid-March, and Woods and Trump made it Instagram official on March 23.

“Love is in the air, and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together,” Woods wrote. “At this time, we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”

That message made it clear that he’s all-in when it comes to his relationship with Trump, but he would appreciate it if fans backed out of his love life.

On June 30, 2025, Vanessa Trump, the girlfriend of golf legend Tiger Woods, shared a heartfelt Instagram video.

In it, she kept people wondering for a moment before explaining the unique reason behind her daughter’s name. The name “Kai” has a touching story linked to family and beloved memories. Vanessa’s words have now reached many who follow her story and Tiger Woods’s life together.

Vanessa Trump, born Vanessa Pergolizzi in New York City in December 1977, posted on Instagram on June 30, 2025. She said her daughter, Kai Madison Trump, who was born on May 12, 2007, was named after her own grandfather, Danish jazz musician Kai Ewans.

Vanessa explained:
“My grandfather’s name was Kai, and I always loved the name Kai. I was very close to my grandfather. He was like a father to me. And kai means ocean, and that’s one of my favorite places to go. So we didn’t know if it was a girl or a boy, but I said either way, it could go. My grandfather was a guy, obviously, and if it’s a girl, I’d name her Kai” .

She also noted that “Kai” means “ocean” in a language she cherishes, using it to connect her child to both family and nature. Vanessa posted the video from her home in Palm Beach, Florida, the same place where she lives with her five children from her marriage to Donald Trump Jr. .

Vanessa Trump and Tiger Woods: A Shared Love for Family and Golf

Vanessa Trump first began dating Tiger Woods around Thanksgiving 2024, though the relationship was kept private for months . The couple made their relationship public in March 2025 via Instagram, where Tiger Woods shared photos and a message saying:

“Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts”.

On June 14, 2025, Vanessa and her daughter Kai attended a White House event in Washington, D.C., representing their family alongside Vanessa’s ex-husband, Donald Trump Jr. . Vanessa and Tiger often meet through their children’s shared passion, golf. Kai, now 18 and a student at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, plays golf with a +0.5 handicap, having won club championships in 2022 and 2024. She has committed to play for the University of Miami in the 2026 class .

Tiger Woods’s children, Sam Alexis Woods (17) and Charlie Woods (16), attend the same school and also play golf. The families have been seen together at events like the Genesis Invitational in Palm Beach, Florida, and the Nicklaus Junior Championship .

Their shared golf connection deepened their relationship. Vanessa’s public words about her naming choice, combined with their children’s common interests, highlight a bond built on family and legacy. Vanessa honored her Danish roots and her love for the ocean by naming her daughter Kai, and through sharing this, she added a personal layer to her public life with Tiger Woods.

Tiger Woods has been in the news as of late, following one of his first public appearances since undergoing surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon earlier in the year.

While Woods’ future in golf is certainly in question, it appears that things in his personal life are going well alongside his girlfriend Vanessa Trump, President Donald Trump’s former daughter-in-law.

According to a report from Reality Tea, there is an expectation that Woods and Trump could be tying the knot in the near future, and that they are head-over-heels in love with each other. Reality Tea also reports that Woods has been calling this “the best relationship he’s ever had.”

Tiger Woods Goes Instagram Official with Vanessa Trump with Snuggled-Up Photo

Woods and Trump made their relationship public back in March and have been going strong since.

“The source revealed that the PGA Tour champion’s friends strongly believe that an engagement is imminent,” Reality Tea’s Varsha Narayanan wrote. “The insider further said, “He’s over the moon about her and saying he plans to marry her so people in his world are expecting it to happen fairly soon.”

Reports of Woods being happy in his personal life are certainly good to hear, seeing as his golf future has taken a turn as of late. While ramping up physically for the major championship season this year, Woods announced that he ruptured his Achilles, and would require surgery to repair it, likely sidelining him until 2026.

This past week, we saw Woods out and about as he walked a course alongside his son, Charlie, for an amateur tournament. While the focus was supposed to be on Charlie, it was hard to ignore Tiger’s physical appearance.

The 49-year-old looks like a shell of his former self. While he still has some muscle mass in his upper-body, his legs look lean and lacking of bulk.

Of course, this is understandable considering what he has gone through as far as leg injuries over the past several years. In 2021, Woods suffered fractures to his right tibia and fibula, plus significant ankle trauma after a serious auto accident. He has also ruptured his ACL, had stress fractures in his knee, torn his Achilles and had MCL sprains.

But if he is happy off the course and in his personal life, all of that other stuff comes secondary. Here’s to hoping this happiness alongside Vanessa can continue.
