Where Is Gervonta Davis As Miami P.D And U.S. Marshals Continue Searching

He’s one of the most well-known fighters in the world, a world champion in three weight divisions with an undefeated record. Yet Gervonta Davis is no longer being viewed by the public as an exceptional athlete.

Rather he’s being viewed as a fugitive which is what he is at the moment, as police in Florida, along with Federal Marshals, are determined to bring him in to once again face an accusation of abusing a woman. Indeed, the WBA lightweight titlist has a history of being charged with mistreating women.

Now though, Davis is facing the consequences of not turning himself in. For ESPN reports that the WBA has taken action against Davis, who has been their world lightweight titlist.

As things stand, Davis has gone from being a world champion to a champion recess courtesy of the World Boxing Association. What’s more, for WBA will be deciding what to do about the lightweight division in the near future. It appears that, unless the situation changes, the sport may move on from Davis due to his outside the ring dramas. And while it’s very true that people are innocent until proven guilty, the volume of Davis’ legal troubles is enough to raise eyebrows.

Things haven’t been well for David’s career lately either. His last fight was last spring at Times Square where he underperformed against Lamont Roach. Even though the fight was ruled a draw, many felt that Roach won. Rather than having a rematch, however, Davis accepted a fight with novelty superstar, Jake Paul…an understandable decision, if not one that endeared him to serious fans. Regardless, he ended up dropping out of the Jake Paul fight because of a civil action taken against him by yet another woman. And now we have law enforcement searching for the man. It’s quite a fall.

Boxing is understandably known as the red light district of sports. Still it’s also a venue for redemption. Hopefully Davis will be able to get his life back in order when all said and done. He may well deserve prison.. and if that’s so then he should serve time. Many convicts have walked away from incarceration and gone on to lead successful lives, however. If Davis is able to continue or resume his career, he might just have the ability to turn things around. First though, he has to take responsibility for his actions, and that means turning himself in. Nothing good can happen if he decides to live life is a fugitive.

WBA Change Gervonta Davis Championship Status Following Arrest Warrant

The World Boxing Association have finally spoken out after Gervonta Davis found himself at the centre of yet another legal issue.

The unbeaten 31-year from Baltimore currently holds the WBA world lightweight title, making the most recent defence of his crown when he was held to a majority decision draw against countryman Lamont Roach Jr in New York City last March.

Davis is yet to make a return to action following his controversial match-up with Roach, although the three-weight world champion was pencilled in to face Jake Paul in an exhibition on November but the bout was eventually cancelled after fresh domestic violence charges were brought up against ‘Tank’.

WBA Change Gervonta Davis Championship Status Following Arrest Warrant

Things have gone from bad to worse for Davis in the last week however after a warrant for the arrest of ‘Tank’ was issued by the Miami Police Department following an incident that occurred with his former partner in October.

As reported by Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN Knockout, the WBA have taken swift action, after naming ‘Tank’ as champion in recess.

“WBA: A tough decision is coming regarding Gervonta The president of @WBABoxing, @GilberticoWBA, chatted exclusively with @ESPNKnockOut regarding the Gervonta Davis case. For now, he will be named champion emeritus.”

From being one of the most exciting fighters on the planet to finding himself in a harrowing legal situation, Davis could now be forced to walk away from the sport and follow up on the plans he had made to retire from boxing, bringing an end to what is turning out to be a disappointing professional career.

WBA finally addresses Gervonta Davis status as champion after arrest warrant issued

After news that an arrest warrant has been issued for WBA lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis, the WBA has provided an update on whether action will be taken.

‘Tank’ Davis was arrested on battery domestic violence charges in both February 2020 and December 2022, before being arrested once again last July after reportedly striking one of his ex-girlfriends. Charges were dropped just one month later.

The reigning 135lb champion was then scheduled to face Jake Paul in a lucrative showdown in Miami, until he was pulled from the card due to new domestic violence allegations, after a civil lawsuit was filed by another of his ex-partners.

Anthony Joshua stepped in for Davis and handed Paul a first stoppage defeat last month, whilst the Baltimore-born bruiser was left contemplating his future in the sport.

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Davis had been issued an arrest warrant for the incident that cost him his place in the Paul event, citing charges including false imprisonment, battery and attempted kidnapping.

Now, WBA President Gilberto Mendoza has informed respected boxing journalist Salvador Rodriguez that the WBA ‘intends to take swift action’ as they analyse Davis’ status as their lightweight champion.

As a result, it is expected that Davis may soon be stripped of his title, leaving number one contender Floyd Schofield and WBA #2 Lucas Bahdi as the expected participants in a scrap for the vacant belt.

Both Schofield and Bahdi remain undefeated in their respective professional careers, but 23-year-old Schofield would be expected to enter the ring as the favourite, following on from his impressive first-round beatdown of Tevin Farmer in his solitary outing of 2025.

Miami PD and U.S. Marshals Launch Manhunt for Gervonta Davis After Arrest Warrant Issued

Law enforcement agencies in Florida are actively searching for one of boxing’s most recognizable names. As per a recent statement, Miami Gardens Police confirmed that they are working alongside the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis following the issuance of an arrest warrant connected to an alleged domestic violence incident.

The announcement came during a formal press conference, a clip of which was shared on X by Happy Punch. Authorities confirmed that Davis is wanted on multiple charges stemming from an incident reported in late October.

During the briefing, Miami Gardens Police detailed the timeline, “Out of respect for the victim’s rights and privacy, the victim’s identity will not be released in accordance with Marcy’s law.  On October 29th, 2025, at approximately 2.15 PM, the victim entered the Miami Gardens Police Department accompanied by her attorney to report an incident that occurred on October 27th, 2025.”

According to the victim’s statement, the alleged incident occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. while she was at work at a gentlemen’s club in Miami Gardens. Police stated that Davis allegedly approached the woman and used physical force.

Police further stated that once the two reached the parking garage, Davis allegedly released her, allowing the victim to run toward coworkers for safety.

Investigators also addressed the relationship between the two parties. According to police, the victim reported that she had known Davis since 2022 and that the pair were previously involved in an intimate relationship for approximately five months, which ended about one month before the alleged incident.

A key component of the investigation involved video evidence. Lead detective Gary Florencio reviewed surveillance footage from the location, which police say supports portions of the victim’s account. “The investigation determined that Mr. Davis used force to restrain and attempt to remove the victim from the location against her will,” police said.

As a result, an arrest warrant was issued charging Davis with battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping. At the time of the press conference, police confirmed that Gervonta Davis had not yet been taken into custody.

“At this time, the Miami Gardens Police Department is actively working with the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend Mr. Davis,” MGPD executive officer Emmanuel Jeanty stated. “The Miami Gardens Police Department remains committed to holding offenders accountable and protecting victims.” Additional context surrounding the case has since emerged.

More details emerge about Gervonta Davis’s situation after the arrest warrant was issued

After the breakup, police say the victim took deliberate steps to cut contact. She “blocked all forms of communication with Mr. Davis after the relationship ended,” MGPD executive officer Jeanty confirmed. That detail matters because it establishes context for why the encounter on October 27 was described as unexpected and unwanted in the victim’s statement.

The criminal investigation is also closely aligned with a civil lawsuit already on file. Speaking to ESPN, attorney Jeff Chukwuma, who represents the victim, said the police findings mirror what was alleged in the complaint. “What the police said is exactly in line with our lawsuit,” Chukwuma stated. “So whatever investigation they did, they determined it was enough to get a judge to sign off on an arrest warrant.”

He added, “The state attorney had to make the determination before, which coincides exactly with our civil complaint.” Timing has also become a notable factor in the broader picture.

The lawsuit was filed roughly two weeks before Davis was scheduled to face Jake Paul in a high-profile boxing match at the Kaseya Center in Miami. That bout never materialized. Davis was pulled from the event, and Paul instead fought Anthony Joshua in December.

What does this mean for Davis moving forward? His legal history provides some context, though each case stands on its own. While several cases were ultimately dropped, he was sentenced in 2023 to 90 days of house arrest and three years of probation stemming from a hit-and-run case in Baltimore.

At this stage, authorities have not said whether the current allegations could impact that probation. As of now, it remains unclear whether the latest charges constitute a violation. Law enforcement officials have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and further clarity is expected once Davis is located and brought before the court.

Unbeaten former world champion vows to KO Gervonta Davis

Gervonta Davis is one of the most fearsome knockout artists in the sport but there is one undefeated former world champion that believes that he can dispatch of Davis inside of the distance and give ‘Tank’ a taste of his own medicine.

A three-division world champion, Davis has shown that his power is genuine by continuing to secure stoppage wins across multiple weight classes, but the Baltimore-born brute has come under fire of late.

‘Tank’ has not won a fight since June 2024, with his solitary outing since that contest being a controversial draw against fellow American Lamont Roach Jr.

Now, there is a growing belief that external factors have played a part in the decline of Davis, and his consideration of retirement speaks volumes about his remaining love for the sport.

Still, the southpaw sensation remains undefeated, but former WBO lightweight ruler Keyshawn Davis told The Last Stand Podcast that he believes he could put an end to Davis’ 31-fight unbeaten streak.

“I think that I would knock Tank out. He’s too small and I can really punch and I’m really smart bro, I’m super smart. I just feel like I’m Tank’s kryptonite, I really do feel that way.

“I am the last person on Tank’s list. I got a worst mentality than him and he knows this. What people don’t realise is that I sparred Tank when I was like 16 years old and we were about to fight outside of the ring.

“Tank already knows what kind of mentality I am coming with. I got that s**t that he got, but my s**t is a little bit worse, honestly.”

‘The Businessman’is due to face Jamaine Ortiz on Saturday, January 31, on the Lopez-Stevenson undercard for his first outing at super-lightweight. Although, it is understood that he may then move up to welterweight, despite just one outing at 140lbs.

Arrest warrant reveals chilling details of Gervonta Davis’ alleged treatment of woman

Law enforcement documents which led to an arrest warrant for WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis Wednesday describe his alleged abusive treatment of a woman who sustained physical injuries before fleeing his alleged attempt to abduct her.

Baltimore’s Davis, 31, is being sought by police in Miami Gardens, Florida, it was announced at a news conference Wednesday. It’s a hunt that imperils not only the WBA lightweight champion’s freedom but whether he will fight again any time soon.

The documents reviewed by BoxingScene show that Davis is facing counts of battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping for his alleged October 27 abuse of the woman, who has already sued the unbeaten three-division champion for physically injuring and threatening her after entering her workplace around 4:15 a.m.

“The victim stated that the subject [Davis] grabbed her by her hair with one hand and grabbed her by the throat with the other,” Miami Gardens police detective Gary Florencio told Miami-Dade County judge Andrea R. Wolfson last week.

“She further stated that [Davis] escorted her down the stairway and toward the VIP parking garage, while maintaining his grip on her head and neck. During the incident, [Davis] allegedly stated, ‘You think that I would not find you?’”

The woman, whose name was redacted in documents reviewed by BoxingScene, told police she has known Davis since 2022 and was in a relationship with him for five months.

“She stated the relationship ended one month prior to the incident,” Judge Wolfson wrote in the statement of facts in support of the arrest warrant. “She subsequently blocked all forms of communication with him. [She] advised there is a history of unreported domestic violence between them.

“[She] stated she sustained minor injuries, including bruising to her left arm, from when [Davis] grabbed her, which was visible at the time of the report. She confirmed she sought medical attention for her injuries.”

Police said they photographed the woman’s injuries.

During the incident, police said the woman “tried to calm [Davis] down, but he kept asking her who she thought she was ignoring him. [Davis] told [the woman] she was leaving him and he did not care what she had to say,” after she previously ended the relationship.

Davis was in trouble earlier this year in another domestic violence episode that led to the scrapping of his planned summer rematch against Washington’s Lamont Roach Jnr, who fought Davis to a draw March 1 at New York’s Barclays Center.

As they neared the parking garage, Davis told the woman he was taking her with him, she told police, and she warned him there were cameras in the garage, police said. When Davis let her go to retrieve his vehicle, the woman “took this opportunity to run back inside and tell her manager what had happened,” according to the arrest warrant statement.

“She also showed me text messages she had received in the past from [Davis] threatening her with death,” Detective Florencio informed the judge.

Police said garage video obtained November 3 “corroborated the details in [the woman’s] statement.

“In the videos, [police can] see [Davis] approach [her] and grab her by her hair. … [Davis] is seen pushing and forcing [the woman] down the stairs. … One clip shows [Davis] grabbing the [alleged] victim’s hoodie and pulling her in the direction he wants her to go. In another clip, [Davis holds the woman] by the back of the neck, leading her through an empty part of the club. The final video [shows] … [the woman] is able to run away.”

Three possible witnesses were observed on the video, police said.

One reported witnessing a prior incident when “[Davis] grabbed [the alleged victim] by the neck at a club in Miami Beach.

Detective Florencio said there’s sufficient probable cause to arrest Davis because he “used force to abduct [the woman] and in the process battered her. [Davis] did not release [the woman] and his intent was to make her leave the location with him against her will.”

Davis hasn’t fought since the March draw, as contenders and their handlers await a decision from his promoter, Premier Boxing Champions, and the WBA regarding his status.

Multiple attempts by to reach PBC officials Wednesday were unsuccessful.

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya, who represents the WBA’s top-ranked contender Floyd Schofield Jnr, said it’s time for the WBA to strip Davis of his belt.

“I really do hope and wish Gervonta Davis gets his act together because, as a fighter, he is very talented, and I admire him inside the ring,” De La Hoya told BoxingScene.

“But it is now time for the WBA to do the right thing and position Floyd Schofield for the world title.”

“Weird”: Gervonta Davis’ First Video Since Civil Lawsuit Caused $40M Loss Has Fans Speculating CTE

Gervonta Davis is back. Not in the boxing ring, but on social media. Why was he gone? Well, weeks before his much-anticipated fight against Jake Paul last year, his ex-girlfriend sued him for battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. This had devastating effects on his career.

Having already discussed retirement, ‘Tank’ was forced to back out of the fight after Paul’s MVP canceled the bout. Davis was reportedly set to earn a massive $40 million paycheck from the encounter on Netflix. Regardless, it appears Davis is in high spirits with his first video on social media.

Gervonta Davis shows off his old moves

In a clip obtained by Fight Hub TV, Davis can be seen dancing in a rather unusual manner. “Gervonta Davis is back on social media, with an unusual video,” Fight Hub TV captioned the post. However, for Davis’ long-time followers, this behavior is nothing out of the ordinary. Several videos circulating across the internet show Davis frequently showcasing his “unusual” moves—antics that feel oddly unbecoming of his undefeated aura.

Davis’ absence from social media followed a turbulent year inside and outside the ring. Before ultimately missing out on the Jake Paul fight, Davis had squared off against Lamont Roach Jr. The matchup wasn’t unfamiliar territory, as the Baltimore native had already defeated Roach Jr. twice in the past. However, when they met again under the bright lights, the outcome was drastically different.

Roach Jr. pushed Gervonta Davis to his limits, to the point where ‘Tank’ was forced to take a knee mid-fight—an incident that sparked significant controversy. In the end, Davis recorded the first draw of his professional career against Roach Jr. Still, in response to Davis’ latest video, some fans have begun speculating whether the boxer may have absorbed too many blows to the head.

Tank was always a little weird, says fan

One of the first comments the post received aimed to mock Davis for his moves and his infamous knee during the Roach Jr. fight. “Y’all he’s playing, but he’s showing that his knee is better; he had surgery on it recently,” the user commented. No reports confirm that Davis had indeed had surgery.

Meanwhile, this user wasn’t surprised by Davis’ dance moves. “He has always been a little weird. Pitbull made it worse,” the user commented. Davis’ fight against Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz was a close affair, where ‘Pitbull’ landed pretty decent blows. However, Davis ultimately won the fight by decision.

The next user had a theory about why Davis posted the dancing clip. “CTE, boredom, needing a little attention, he good,” the user commented. While CTE is a prevalent problem in boxing, Davis doesn’t appear to show many symptoms quite yet.

Another user pointed out the video wasn’t out of the norm for Davis. “He always [does] these videos like that dancing one,” the user wrote. However, Gervonta Davis always gets mocked for the videos as well.

For someone else, however, the video was confirmation that Davis was suffering from CTE. “Yep …. CTE confirmed  I see why he said he done with boxing,” the user commented. While Davis has indicated he will hang up his gloves, that could always be a ploy to gain more attention.

CTE or not, fans appear relieved to see Gervonta Davis back to his usual self after what was a turbulent year for him.

Lamont Roach Rated Gervonta Davis Power After Becoming Just The 3rd Man To Hear Final Bell

Lamont Roach Jr shared his thoughts on the punching power of Gervonta Davis after their controversial 12-round contest.

WBA world lightweight champion Davis was last in action when he fought to a majority decision draw against Roach at the Barclays Center in New York City last March. Many felt he should have lost his belt that night, particularly as he took a knee mid-fight but got away with it not being classed as a knockdown. Despite not winning, Roach became just the third man to take ‘Tank’ the distance in 31 bouts.

The 31-year-old from Baltimore was then pencilled in to make his return to the ring back in November, skipping a Roach rematch for an exhibition clash with Jake Paul. It was cancelled after he found himself at the center of domestic violence allegations.

Lamont Roach Rated Gervonta Davis Power After Becoming Just The 3rd Man To Hear Final Bell

Speaking on All The Smoke Fight, Roach summed up the power of ‘Tank’ Davis, claiming he expected his countryman to ‘hit harder.’

“When he actually hit me clean, I was like ‘alright, if that happens again is it going to be like this? Let’s test this out again.’ Not to get hit but let’s see what we’re working with. I hit him with a clean body shot and he was like ‘I thought you hit harder than that.’ I was like ‘I thought you hit harder than that, you’re a knockout artist!’ I went back to my corner and said ‘I got him.’”

Davis may now look to put a difficult 12 months behind him and get his career back on track. The 31-year-old could return to action in 2026, announcing his interest in a rematch with Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, who recently fought to a draw against Roach.

Gervonta Davis Coach Breaks Silence On His Boxing Comeback

Gervonta Davis coach Kenny Ellis has shared his thoughts on a potential comeback to boxing for ‘Tank’.

The 31-year-old from Baltimore is yet to make a return to the ring since he fought to a majority draw against countryman Lamont Roach Jr back in March of last year.

Davis was set to make his long-awaited comeback against Jake Paul in November but their controversial exhibition clash was cancelled after ‘Tank’ found himself at the centre of a legal battle for domestic allegations.

Whilst it had been speculated that Davis was considering announcing his retirement from boxing by the end of 2025, it has now been suggested that the 31-year-old will make a return to the ring this year.

Speaking to Mill City Boxing, Ellis admitted that he plans to fully support Davis regardless of the decision that he makes on his future in the sport, suggesting that even his team aren’t aware of the next move, or have been instructed to keep quiet about it.

“If he’s coming back, I can only support, you know? I mean I’m just gonna support him, you know what I mean? Whatever he do. If he says he’s done, I’mma support him. If he says I’m coming back, we just get him ready, you know? That’s all we can do. It’s not rocket science. People make it bigger than what it is. It’s just boxing.”

Fans will be hoping that Davis does decide to continue with his boxing career, which will leave the door open for a potential ‘super fight’ with long-term rival Shakur Stevenson, who currently holds the WBC world lightweight title. ‘Tank’ himself has said that he is targetting a rematch with Isaac Cruz.

Gervonta Davis reveals injury that’s delaying ring return as he sets his sights on rematch

It has been a year to forget for Gervonta Davis, but the 31-year-old is already plotting his return to the ring.

“Tank” Davis remains one of boxing’s biggest attractions, a fighter who draws huge crowds thanks to his explosive talent and his often controversial life outside the ropes.

In 2025, Davis, 30-0-1 (28 KOs), has fought only once — a highly contentious draw with Lamont Roach — while simultaneously dealing with a series of personal issues. His planned crossover bout against cruiserweight Jake Paul was also scrapped following recent allegations of abuse made by Davis’s ex-girlfriend.

Roach and another of Davis’s former opponents, Isaac Cruz, met last year December in San Antonio, Texas, with both men chasing a world title shot at super-lightweight. Cruz’s WBC interim belt was at stake, but the main event ended in yet another draw for Roach — the third of his career.

While Roach has no interest in a Davis rematch at present, his opponent from the weekend may be heading in that direction. The Baltimore native signalled his intentions in a now-deleted post on X, writing:

“I’m taking him [Isaac Cruz] next, soon as my knee gets better.”

What exactly is wrong with his knee remains unclear, but a Davis–Cruz rematch would revisit their December 2021 meeting, which Davis won by unanimous decision after a fiercely competitive 12 rounds. It may also prove a more lucrative option for Cruz than a second fight with Roach, which has been floated for next year.
